Welcome to Librarium Online!
Good Evening Fellow Gamers,
I am looking to create a unit for a wood elf army and wonder how well the bretonnian pegasus knight wings would look on the wood elf glade rider horses. These would essentially "Count As" warhawk riders. I don't dislike the idea warhawks per se, but I think that the riders themselves look rather silly. I replaced one of them with a plastic glade guard model, and it honestly looks much better IMO.
But I saw some pegasus conversions and thought that they looked pretty nice so I am wondering if you have any input on the subject.
Thank you for your time.

* "Call me old fashioned, but an evil ascension to power just isn't the same without someone chanting faux Latin in the background."
Well the thing is a friend of mine has such an conversion, and it looks pretty sweet. But imo it still are pegasuses nog warhawk. A warhawk is a bird bread for war, a pegasus is a flying horse... different things.
So to cut it short: If done correctly it looks pretty sweet, but I dont think it should count as warhawks.
Maybe you could add a beak to the horses and remove the front legs... but I think that makes them look more like dragons (hehe)
So my advice: Just buy the warhawks, they are expensive, they look really cool! Im thinking of replacing some riders with GG scouts... I think that looks pretty sweet too!
So, a hippogriff then? I don't believe I've seen rules for them posted anywhere, and they're pretty much pegasi with beaks and feathered manes.
Either way, it's a nice idea, but you would have to get agreement from opponent for using them (the usual really) so wouldn't matter in friendlies unless you're playing the neighbourhood spoilsport
If I remember correctly there are hippogriffs in the empire and the high elf armies. Not as unit on its own but as ridden monsters for a named lord.... Maybe you could get the army rules from there
But I think that if you field them with the same stats as warhawks that there will be no complaining from the other side of the field They still have the "beak and razor sharp talons" as well as wings, so its clear they can fly...
edit: the models I was talking about, those are griffons... *Karl franz and some guy on stormwing

gamezone mini's has some pretty nice eagles but you'll also need some green stuff for assembly and custom made bases.

Yeah, was sure the Empire and High Elves used Griffons, Hippogriffs have a horses behind instead of a lions. Were also the 'weaker cousin' of griffons so could probably easily fill the role statwise of a warhawk
that is true indeed... and why shouldnt there be hippogrifs and griffons in and around athel loren? If there is a place where such magical creatures could live in the new world it should be athel loren (fluff wise)...
Im pretty sure though that they wont be accepted at tournaments...
anyway if you are still planning on making that conversion, could you upload some pics? I would like to see how they come to look
