So a new tournament is going down at the hobby shop where i play.
its a 1999 tournament mainly to try to cut down on lord cheese characters as the other stipulation to the tourny is no special characters. (not much of a problem for woodelves)
im trying to put together a solid group of heroes.
Standard Alter, and Scroll Caddy are on the list.
the third hero is the tricky one.
the options im thinking of right now are:
lvl 1 branch wraith with cluster of radiants and nettlings.
or possible some other sort of combat oriented noble
if i take the wraith ill have 5 dd and two scrolls. which is a pretty solid magic defense against anything but 3 mage (or daemons) armies, as well as adding a bit of bite to one of my dryad units
If i go with the amber alter (or other combat oriented unit) ill have another heavy hitter than can roll around in tandem with Mr. Hail of Doom.
What do you think?
Depends on what you really expect in the tournament. If you think you will see heavy magic, or just don't know, I would err on the side of the wraith. If you know magic won't be prevalent, I would go with the amber noble.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
