Hey guys. Well after a few years of not playing fantasy, i decided to get back into the hobby and I've decided to set my sites on either the Empire or Wood Elves. Just wanted to ask you why should I go Wood Elves over the Sons of Sigmar? Just wanted to hear your opinions and would really appreciate ur feedback.
I would definitely go with wood elves over empire. The reasons are as follows:
1. Smaller army, so less to models to buy and paint
2. Wood elves seem to be a little more competitive at the moment
3. Wood elf army looks better
4. Our book will be redone sooner.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
hmm, I would indeed go with woodelves over empire for the reasons stated by sir Kentley.
I do however want to add, this:
When played right, wood elves are unbeatable! Wood elves are the only army that can easily field a really fast list. That is a great advantage as well.
Wood elves play like no other WHFB army. They are a fragile but damaging foe.
The only down-side of woodelves is that their offensive magic is not really that great.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
Regarding our magic, on the plus side, we have one less phase we have to worry about playing it; which can be helpful if you're new.
Oh I don't know, a lot of people I play find the magic rather offensive and I only use the Lore of Athel Loren!
The other lores that are in the main book can be just as useful, don't get me wrong. The Lore of Athel Loren is a tactical genius in its own right. Moving terrain, granting regeneration, fear, ethereal, some damage related to terrain still, free charge with extra attacks.
Can be immense when used in combination with other spells or just on the right unit.
Fantasy: Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Beastmen and Tomb Kings.
LotR: Misty Mountains and Rohan
That's the only reason to play the Drycha list. Lots of spirits and treesinging. XP
