Haven't seen this type of thread on here before, at least not for a long time. I would like to hear what people would change to the army list for the next edition? What would you add for next edition? I am talking like specifics too, point reductions and equipment changes, additional units and unit types.
To start with, I would drop Glade guard 2 points a piece, or give them two rank fire.
I would give forest spirits a regular ward save as well, and make the useless talismanic tattoos a +5 regen save.
Just to start that is.

Make the Forest Spirit ward save stable against magic
Give tree units a scaly skin save
Keep unit points the same so I don't have to rewrite my list
Maybe change some Wardancer dances
I think a swarm unit of spites would be quite cute, but that's just aesthetically
Something that would be quite cool would be to have Dryads a bit cheaper but 1 attack, then you can either buy an extra attack or poison for them.
Fantasy: Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Beastmen and Tomb Kings.
LotR: Misty Mountains and Rohan
I'm sorry that I can't offer any specific suggestions, but I'd love to see Eternal Guard get more practical use, I know many Wood Elf commanders don't bring them. I think the models look really nifty though, it's be cool to see them on the battlefield. Any suggestions?
I would indeed like to see the GG get some more punch, for 12pts a piece they are pretty expensive (compared to empire huntsmen for example). I like the rank thingy, but I dont think that goes fluff wise. So I would be for dropping their point levels. Or let them shoot out of a forest with no maximum distance to the edge of that forest.
The dryads, I kinda like right now, indeed make the wardsave way more stable against magic (and magic items!).
I would thoughen up the Warhawks, they are a bit unreliable at the moment. Maybe give them also talismanic tattoos or something like that. Maybe something to make them evade cannonbals more easily. Make them better war machine hunters! Cause we miss the warmachines, and we don't really have some Uber duper warmachine hunting thing.
I like the swarms idea! Its pretty cool!
Ow and last but not least, I would up the magic BIG time! We live in a living forest, and we have the weakest magic one can think of (after the bretts). Why? Why is that possible?
I would like to see the ability to have more than one of the same sprite in the army .
I hope they bring back some of the characters because right now not many of us seem to use Drycha or Orion, maybe bring back Darthu?
GG should become skirmishers instead since taking scouts on them is only so so since we have WW for that purpose.
Id like to see some swarms or animals make an appearance in our book like a bear, since I assume animals live in the forest too.
Characters - the ability to buy decent armour. Spellcasters should get a bonus to casting Athel Loren if they are glamourweave. The magic items need a lot of work, a fair chunk are really useless. I would like to see some better bows.
Core - pretty happy really, add Eternal Guard as core, give them "always march" and an special ability called "eternal" this ability allows guard that have been killed to attack back with one attack.
special - pretty cool actually.
rare - eagles should be a 2 for one.
I agree also having forest swarms may be a good idea, to represent the creatures of the forest being used to fight the enemy.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
Better armor for the Highborn's and Nobles, a better type or an upgrade of magic for the spell-casters, and also since WE are supposed to have the best shooting in the game I completely agree that they need some better bow's to compliment that. Personally, I would love it if Eternal Guard became a standard core choice, maybe make them at least 2 points cheaper. The Glade Guard seem fine the way they are at the moment, except they should lower their point cost and maybe give them something for an extra punch but I could be jut wishing.
Things i would like for the next armybook/what I think should happen.
Army Wide Rules: Str 4 longbows at short range for all units (glade guard, glade riders etc. etc.)
Forest Spirits have 5+ ward save at all times
Core: Cheaper Glade Guard and Riders, make Eternal Guard useful.
Wardancers: Have Killing Blow, Always Strike First, +4 ward in CC, and up attacks by one, Stock. Keep wardancer weapons the same.
Wild Riders: Make able to flee! Have them always cause fear, higher toughness? higher weapon skill. Cheaper?
Warhawk Riders: Fly/ land in forests, cheaper, get rid of hit and run
Treekin: Make Cheaper, get some sort of rank bonus
Treeman: Cheaper, magic resist? take spites? can't one shot maybe?
Waywatchers: Killing Blow on 5+ at close range, magic missle protection would be nice
More rare choices?
Magic items and Spites:
more Spites/ lower cost spites.
some more bound items
Something to kill steam tanks and WoC Chosen deathstars.
Treesinging for free, like power of darkness. More useful spells. 2 and 6 are bad
Well... I really like the codex as it stands. In fact, I keep trying to design other lists in other codexes and just get frustrated; ours is really good!
I think I'd like to see some tweaking in the magic items sections. Like, making the spirit sword cause a leadership test on the models leadership, and if it passes make the bearer pass a test. It would keep the same fluff and be safer. Heck, tweaking items and characters would be all you'd need to do to make us 7th editiony.
Beyond that, there's alot of cool ideas being kicked around! Like, I thought it'd be cool if our base spell was "fury of the forest" and then if we got an extra spell (like power of darkness) and that would be treesinging. That would really make the magical treesinging army fun!!!
I definitely would like to see some of our spites tweaked; it would be cool if they maybe didn't count towards the magic items limit. But meh.
Definitely definitely liking spite swarms! I'd hope they'd be ethereal. It'd be amazing if they were a weak swarm which had to to take a spite upgrade, representing the kind of spite it was. I'm thinking, maybe base 2 or 3 attacks with options to take a murder of malevolents, or an annoyance of netlings, to represent the kind of spite it is. It'd fun, though, I'm fairly certain they'll never do it.
I'd like to see our Glade Scouts not lose Glade Bows. In fact, I'd like to see our Glade Bows work like the Repeater Crossbows in the Dark Elven codex.
Beyond that, I really hope they don't change my Dryads too much. I love Dryads.
Hmm... that's interesting regarding treekin. Maybe s5 t4 w2 at 25-30points? Not sure if they'd be able to stay on monster bases if one did that. If they did they'd need a rule making it so they get rank bonuses for ranks of 4; though, actually that'd be really cool to see in an Ogre Kingdoms Codex.

Thinking of a new spell - Barkskin or something fluffy - Could be used to give our Hero's a High Armour Save?
- Wood Elves + Orcs & Goblins since 2009 -
