Always Strike First
Custom Ability: Magic Eaters (add 2 Dispell Dice)
Custom Ability: Suffocating Present (Enemy -1 WS combat)
Custom Ability: (post one yourself if you got a good idea!)
So yeah, to represent the variety of spites in the woods, I've some up with different abilities they can purchase. They will be able to purchase one, and ONLY one out of three abilities.
As for the stats of the swarm, they we be the same as a Spirit Host. I thought it would be fitting.
[EDIT] Shoot, I forgot to put ethereal up there.
POST ETHEREAL if you'd like that as a choice.

Include 1 Spite of you choosing for the point value of that spite.
Damn it David! trying to narrow it down
The ones that make sense to me...
Poison, Magical, 5+ regen
Str 2, To 2, In 5, 5 attacks, 5 wounds, 5+ regen, poisoned, magical, and auto win combat every time
Why not the magic choice? If you encounter a swarm of spites, there should be a big change that there is a spite hidden in there with more than mere combat skills!
ah well, im afraid im talking to a deaf ear...
Sticking to Backdraft's Rule of Three, here is what I think:
Ones that make sense to me
2. Magical attacks
2. Magical Attacks
What I voted for
Backdraft, I adjusted the vote tallies to reflect my changes.
Well the attacks are already magical, and magical isn't a big deal unless there's a special circumstances needed. as a swarm, they are already breakable. If they are going to be rare, they have to be worth it. I am going to post a few different versions soon to vote on soon.
I had an idea that might be interesting for Spite Swarms. I'll just copy it over.
"Another interesting thing would be if they let us deploy an immobile unit (something like a haunted glade) with...
M: 0 WS: 2 BS: 0 S: 4 T: 7 W: 2 I: 1 A: 6 LD: 10
They'd be an ogre sized unit at unit size 3+ and would be skirmishers for all intensive purposes.
They would be unbreakable and could be moved through like open terrain by Wood Elven/Forest Spirit units (though line of sight may not be drawn through them, nor can units stop within them, the haunted glades are pissy. O.O). At the start of the player's movement phase, the Haunted Glade could try to awaken a spite within 24" inches or any woods. The spite would be bought as a unit upgrade. Anytime the spite is "Killed" it wouldn't be destroyed, but placed back into reserves to be awakened again unless the haunted glade was destroyed, at which point the opponent receives victory points for both the Haunted Glade and the Spite.
I would figure the spites would be swarms with....
M: 5 WS: 2 BS: 2 S: 2 T: 2 W: 4 I: 6 A: 4 LD: 8, Small Targets, Swarm, Forest Spirit Rules, Ethereal
They could have an additional ability purchased from the "Spites" entry of the Wood Elven army Book. Obviously certain spites, such as Radients, could not be purchased.
This would represent the haunted glade that's impenetrable and hostile, merely tolerating the presence of the Asrai and giving them leave to pass through. Obviously, it awakens/sends forth it's inhabitants to defend Athel Loren. The attacks are only there to represent pissed of trees if it gets charged/engaged in combat somehow. Probably let them be moved by treesinging. They'd be good for screening stuffs probably."
It's a cool idea, but I would just as well make it simple.
