Topic of the Week - Spellsinger

This is the start of a new series, that will hopefully bring new ideas and tactics to the forums. Each week, a new topic will be posted up about a different unit in the army book. This gives you your chance to discuss the unit to its fullest. So, please leave your comment!

This week's topic is - Spellsinger

Is the second level worth the points? What option do you give her? Is the glamourweave kindred worth it? What items do you take? How is she best used in the army?

    Discuss.

    Kuffy

The Lore of Athel Loren is probably my favourite lore in the game

I always use at least one spellsinger, usually two or three. I love them!

Scroll caddy and tree moving. Sometimes use the offensive spells but i see them more in a support role to the army.

Scroll Caddy ofcourse. Allways using tree singing unless i get Fury of the Forest as that is more powerfull ofensive. And i usually get to play with lots of woods so that really suits me well.

Last time I played (about a week ago), I tried a new tactic. Table was swarming with woods (3 of them if I can remember), and I use one unit of 6 glade riders, supported with one spellsinger level 2, with item which alows you to cast treesinging spell more than one time per round, and reroll dice when casting this spell. My opponent was amazed how one forest can move about 15 inches in jus one round)) Too bad this unit was wiped out by enemy fire! It survived about 4 rounds, util they got Black horror...

The staff does not let you reroll the dice when casting Treesinging. Read the description again. It lets you move it an extra inch, not reroll the whole thing.

Oh, sorry, i forgot to mention that I took two items: Calaingor's stave and Deepwood sphere. Second item allows you to reroll the dice when determining the effect of treesinging.

One wizard can't take both. You are only allowed one arcane item per wizard.

I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
