My friend at my local hobby shop is a pain with his dwarves. At 1500 points basically he takes the max number of organ guns and cannons, 20 thunderers (2 squads of 10), 40 Warriors (2 squads of 20), 20 Iornbreakers (1 squad), and a ton of banners. He then castles on a hill with his organ gun and cannon at the top, thunderers one level below, and the rest at the base in different directions so I cant get a flank charge. Then he just sits there... firing his cannon/organ gun, and mabey if I get close or if he really feels the need to change tactics he'll fire his thunderers.
How do you beat this!
apart from the cannon they are all 24" range weapons. Move up to just within 30" and start shooting with your archers and take out his missile units.
Then they will have to advance to win the game.
If they had lots of quarrellers then you'd really be in trouble.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
Forgive me for being naive here, but surely you could just get within range, take out the cannon operators, and then get out again, and deal with the rest as normal?
Its tough to just kill the guys manning the warmachines.
Need to randomize into them on a 5 or 6, then attempt to wound them on a 5+
You could shoot alot and not take out the crews. Easily shoot alot and not take out the crews. Shoot the thunderers would be my advice.
