Ideas for fix units or new ones.

With all the changes of 8th I thought here would be a good place to just see what issues people find with current units and how to fix them for the new edition or just new units in general that would be cool to have.

    Special Choice - Wardancer Troupe:
    Cost: 20 points / model
Stats: Attacks 2 "wardancer"/3 "bladesinger" (rest unchanged)
    Type: Infantry
    Unit Size: 5-15
    Weapons & Armor: Wardancer Weapons
    Options:
    - Musician at +10 points
    - Bladesinger at +15 points
Special Rules: Skirmish, Shadow Dances of Loec, Talismanic Tattoos, Immune to Psychology.

    Shadow Dances of Loec:
Wardancers are masters at disrupting enemy formations and their combat prowess is unmatched.
Units engaged with wardancers are counted as skirmishers for the purpose of counting ranks, and may not make supporting attacks.
    - At the start of each player turn they must pick one of the following dances:
Whirling Death: Gain killing blow special rule.
Shadows Coil: Improves their ward save by 2.
Woven Mist: Gain always strikes first special rule.

Talismanic Tattoos: Grants magic resist 1, and improves ward save by one or grants a 6+ ward save.
    Wardancer Weapons: (unchanged)

    Special Choice - Hunters:
    Cost: 14 points / model
    Stats: M8 / WS4 / BS4 / S4/ T3 / W1 / I8 / A2 / Ld9
    Type: Infantry
    Unit Size: 5-10
Weapons & Armor: Longbow, Light Armor
    Options:
    - May be given extra hand weapons at +1 point per model, spears at +1 point per model, or great weapons at +1 point per model.
    - May be given shields at +1 point per model
    - May be given talismanic tattoos at +1 point per model.
    Special Rules: Fierce Charge, Skirmisher.

Fierce Charge: Gain swift strider when charging and if using spears count as being mounted thus gaining plus 1 strength.

Special Choice - Eternal Guard: (core choice if army is lead by a Highborn)
    Cost: 14 points / model
    Stats: Initiative 6 (rest unchanged)
    Type: Infantry
    Unit Size: 10+
Weapons & Armor: Eternal Guard Equipment.
    Options:
    - Musician at +10 points
    - Guardian at +14 points
    - Banner at +14 points
Special Rules: Eternal Fighting Style, Unbreakable.

Eternal Fighting Style: All attacks directed at models with this rule suffer a minus 1 to hit on all to hit rolls.
Eternal Guard Equipment: Models in base attack as if they had an extra hand weapons, models not in base attacks as if they had spears. Grants a 5+ armor save.

Ranks isnt the problem - the problem is that we go first, kill half of them. Then they strike back and kill all of us.
The problem is removing units from the rear not front.

Interesting stuff, though I would change the name of your "alter kin." A unit of loners just doesn't sound right to me.

And at 15 points per, I think I would use these eternal guard even less than the ones now.

I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.

Yeah, I played them in a game now and made a few changes.

Personally, I think Glade Gaurd Longbows should be an army wide rule. It would make almost every unit worth considering. Scouts/GR/Warhawks would all become that much better, and I think such a simple change would really help the entire army.

that would be very good^^. Obviously Eternal guard, Dryads etc dont get one, but Scouts, Glade Riders etc even Waywatchers, could get this and mend us.

+ it would make us into the 'shooty' army that we should be. At long range we are worse than high elves <because they have armour>
