    Rules on Trees - Important!

Okay so i rekon this is very important to us!

In the old game Trees gave us soft cover and you could only see 2" out of a wood.

In the new rule I cant see any reference to trees giving cover.. and I cant see anything about how far in you can shoot from. I know that the standard rule is now 'true line of sight' but how does that work with trees <which you move around anyway to fit models in>.

    - All i can see is rules about mysterious forests.

Does anyone know the answers to this? + page numbers where relevent.

Woods count as soft cover for the rules on page 40-41. True line of sight means basically you can shoot through a woods. So where you are in the woods or behind it is irrelevant.

Units that have a majority of their models in the forest, or a unit that you have to trace line of sight THROUGH a forest get soft cover (119)

And yes Forests are generally see through now.

if we are shooting through a forrest then basically we are at -1 to hit?

if we are in a forest and shooting out, then no penalty, but they are at -1 to hit us?

    - Is this a correct summary?

So really, woods give us no cover at all!

they give you a standard -1 to be hit if you are in or behind them. The only other thing is that our models have the strider rule for forests, so never have to take dangerous terrain checks. And skirmishers, which we have a lot of, are stubborn in them.
