Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm looking for a 2500 point WE force, and I have no idea where to start, except that I want to have a focus on mass shooting and I know I need Treemen. After that, I'm lost.
Any help would be appreciated. Example lists would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance,

Take a look around the Army list threads. A good place to start would be a battleforce, though you'd need to do a little converting because glade Riders are abyssmal, but Wild Riders are good. Most people anymore take at least a unit of 6x2 Treekin, a level 4 Spell Weaver with Lore of Life and Wand of Wych Elm, and a Treeman, though many lists take one or two 4x2 Treekin units and 2 Treemen. That is expensive however, though I know people have started converting them from Dryads using ogre bases. Branch Wraiths are also common becuase they are a cheap place to put a cluster of radiants, which grants another dispel die. Personally, I like spamming 5x2 units of Glade Gaurd with Wild Riders, Drayds, and Way Watchers, but that's not very "competitive."

Fantasy: Windhost of Athel'Loren 2/0/0 - Daemons of Another Great Squiggle! 0/0/0
Warmahordes: Legion of Everblight (Absylonia)
use as much of the gladegaurd as you can. i tend to have two units of ten for manourverablity and then a unit of twenty to take advantage of the volley fire rule. treekin are the way to go. 2x6 is really expensive but they make up for it. i also tend to stay away from wardancers and dryads due to skirmishers being downgraded and the fact that most enemies can strike back in closecombat now. sometimes, depending on the enemy, i take waywatchers instead of the treeman, especially if there are going to be cannons and other scary warmachines in play. spell weaver with the lore of life can make a unit of squishy glade gaurd into a toughness 7 tar pit that will allow your other units to join the fight, depending on the winds of magic.
I would suggest a treeman ancient or a spell weaver for your lord choice. Everyone says that a spellweaver is better but I never use one and I use a Treeman Ancient, win about 70% of my games.
Dryads are terrbile in this edtion, unless fielding an all close combat list. Then you need a couple of dryad units to back up every unit.
eternal guard die a lot, so I would suggest not using them, or if you do, you must use a lot of them and need treekin and treemen to back them up.
Glade guard are the way to go. I suggest a lot of small units along with lots of scouts, or a couple big blocks of glade guard, or a good mix and match of each so they can back each other up. I use scouts a lot because I need the extra movement to move in on warmachines for they are very nasty this edtion.
glade riders arnt worth their points. dont even try to justify.
wild riders are good in large point games and they have to be used in larger units of 10 or so, that way they can hit a flank hard or run down a few support units or smash through some warmachines. they are not good hitting straight on or in smaller point games for they dont make their points back very well in this edtion.
wardancers are not good by theirself, they need lots of support or they die very fast and cannot hit a unit on the front or else they just bounce off. use them for support or on the flanks or to finish off a unit that got the hell shot out of it. small units can be used for very efficient character hunters, which ive found to be extremely surprising to the other players.
Treekin are our mvps of this edition. by far the most usefull and well spent points on. Units of 6 are the best, any less and they die, any more and your using up a lot of points and they will focus fire the unit. so a 3x2 is best and I promise it will kill anything and everything that it touches.
Waywatchers are kinda overpriced in this edition since they have the same scouting ability as other scouts, but they are worth it if you are using a scout heavy army for they dont require the obligation to have a glade guard unit already to take the unit like scouts.
Treeman. he will bust and destroy through everything. but he gets stuck in stubborn hordes all the time. so give him another Treeman buddy to plow through with. Second Mvp besides Treekin. careful though, dwarves will one shot him and so will a lot of cannons for now scenery to help him hide.
Shooting is the way to go in this edition. Most of what slann said is good advice. Though treekin work best in units of 8.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
could u plz suggest a balanced 2000pt woodie army for 8th as iam having troble making a competeavie list. i plan on taking 4 units of 5x2 glade guard but the rest of the force iam unsure on.
Thats a pretty clean slate you have left me to play with.
1) could you give me a full list of the models you own so I can know what to suggest.
2) Make a new Topic called 'JC2000 2000 point list' or something since this conversation will detour from the original topic here.
I will make a reply to you as soon as possible once you have done that
