    Base sizes

Just want to check something about base sizes.

Got a Stag that came with a 50mm base, Im currently converting a Unicorn, does this also have to be on a 50mm base as it is classed as a Monstrous Beast (same as a Stag)

Same question for Great eagles (monstrous beast) 50mm base?

    Warhawks go on 40mm?

I also now have to change the base on a few old Treeman models I have they are on 40mm bases not 50mm like the new model

Unicorn is on a 50mm. Great eagles on are 40mm. Treemen like you said are on 50mm.

I bought a Great Eagle and it came with a 50mm base. Is it on a 40mm base in 8th?

It was always on a 40mm base. What you actually got in the package was a crap shoot. The last official list was years ago, but it stated that eagles were on a 40mm base.

So putting a Spellweaver on a Unicorn with Treekin will not get a "look out sir", correct?

You are correct. There really isn't anything she can go in and get one.

(nods) After playing 30-40 games the biggest challenge is keeping the Weaver safe and yet close enough to the front line troops (Treeman and Treekin) to optimize the Life magic spells.

Try putting her and a level 2 singer with Calaingor's staff with some scouts/watchers/dancers in your 6" woods. The double tree singing will keep them mobile enough, and you are fine with only using a single die on the casting for it because it's usually not imperative that it goes off, and you'll cast it on a 3+ anyway, and the skirmishers make for a good bodyguard in the woods because you'll be stubborn in melee, and they won't have steadfast. This is also a good place to put your BSB for the same reason. It may seem a bit pricey, but I think it pays off, especially with war dancers. At the very least, you get a back up dispeller, a place to put Radiants if you don't have a BW, and a trap to lure opponents into woods for our skirmishers to be effective.

Also as a side note, a caster with Calaingor's and Athel'Loren can do 3d6 S5 hits to units inside of woods, which ain't to shabby.

Ikbuh, seems like a fine idea, though the singers can't take a cluster of radiants.
