I like Elite skilled units. I like a mix of range of melee. I prefer fast units to strong units. I like Tomb Kings but they are too slow. Would you recommend wood elves?
Take a look at Dark Elves before you make any decisions. I think it may be a bit easier to get the "flavour" you're looking for out of a DE army. You'll be relying on tree-kin and treemen as anchors for your close combat with Wood Elves...so the balance of the army may go a bit more towards shooting and lots of glade guard.
That being said, the best idea is always to go with models you like and are really motivated to play/paint...and spend lots of time learning your army. I'm sure you could tweak lists to make a good balance.
I'd recommend them if you like the model range, fluff and concept of the wood elves. They are currently very challenging in the current edition, one of the least forgiving armies you can play.
Play-wise, dark elves and high elves are better armies.
That's cool, just thought I'd toss that out there...the important thing is that you like the models and are motivated to play/paint.
Maybe a bit of topic, but couldnt help to react on this statement!
Not entirely sure how you'd manage 40" charge on carrions?
