So, I am in need of a treeman, but I really don't want to shell out the cash to GW right now because everything is expensive for no reason, and it's really not in the budget at the moment. So, what do I do? Well, I have plenty of dryads I have yet to assemble, but I don't have a base to use. What I do have, is a greater daemon of Tzeentch without any wings. It has the right base, and the model is about the right size, so I have decided I am going to try converting it into a treeman.
Now, I need some suggestions. What do you propose I do with it?
Also, if you don't mind terrible camera phone shots, I might even be able to get a WIP going.
40k: Silver Angels of Our Martyred Lady 7/2/3 - Daemons of the Great Squiggle! 3/1/0
Fantasy: Windhost of Athel'Loren 2/0/0 - Daemons of Another Great Squiggle! 0/0/0
Warmahordes: Legion of Everblight (Absylonia)
I have made all my treekin and treemen myself, they'r a ripoff.
Well what i do is take some twigs from the garden (this gives the models a try like feel), i glew them together with green stuff and super glew. they look awsome and are very cheap. Now the base, just cut a peace of card bord to the right size, its rather simple (for me).
Give it a try, and if it goes wrong you have'nt wasted a lot.
Twigs from the garden work really well. If you don´t need the demon for anything else, I would combine it with twigs. I think especially the beaked head would look great if you give it a wooden look/paint.
