While playing a game against my buddies VC, I learned that a block of treekin are not very maneuverable. Henceforth, that made a nice little 390 point snack for his block of (not sure what they were) armed with magic great weapons, a nasty regen banner and a BSB. He only killed one but got me on CR. It doesn't need to flame to hurt. In all fairness I charged without support, I had just finished my new treekin (finecast, east to put together but feel cheap), the night was getting late and we were getting tired.
When fighting VC, what tactic works for you guys. Going after easy blocks of zombies and skeletons, or trying to kill off his characters?
Yeah that was a block of graveguard with a bsb. If you are gonna fight them with just the treekin you need to buff them with life or beast magic. A large block of gladeguard with flame banner can be nice to thin them out before you charge in. However, graveguard with regen banner / great weapons are really about the strongest and most killy unit vamps have so never gonna be easy.
Generally you want to focus on killing gravegaurd / vampires as they do the damage and keep the army up, zombies and skellies can be cleaned up after you kill the nasty stuff.

- You must set fire to water or you will be extinguished.
I cant comment from a WE perspective but I know my friend uses the same block against my DE's and I usually avoid that unit totally, save it for last, or give a sorceress fire magic to bless my arrows...
