Welcome to Librarium Online!
since the glade guard are being turned into archers, what are we going to do with our old models???
Get a couple of bucks in scrap metal OR you can put them in a diorama and move on. The old models are hideous but thats just me.
i guess u could use them as eternal gaurd
but i thought that they are mounted???
and yes, they are hideous but i don't want to splash out a hundred quid for the army i alredy have(and with the money i don't have)
Yes, you can use them as the fantastic Eternal Guard. The Wild Riders are the ones that are mounted.
I think old Glade Guard could make pretty good Eternal Guard, with a bit of convertion you can change their Cloniness and give them double ended weapons like the Eternal Guard models, I think.
"The streets a flame, the people in flame,
The Apolapsy Four Ride out again.
The flame of Hell are freezing over,
And Heaven is falling out of the sky!
Is it any wonder that the world is going to burn in a cleansing flame?
Is it any wonder that the world is coming to a realigious end?"
I never bought any of those, I used plastic high elves I painted in bronze armor and green outfits. Still ugly but way cheaper. The new ones are real killers and the new rules make them a real choice in an army.
Can the EG use the shields of the old GG?Originally Posted by Revlid
The rules for Eternal Guard are carefully written so that it doesn't matter what the model is armed with. You could have the guy out there with a shield and a spear, a spear, a sword, sword and shield, or a scone with some clotted cream and an umbrella--anything they carry is counted as "Eternal Guard Weapons and Armour" and they'll fight in exactly the same way regardless of what weapons they have. (you'll see the same phenomenon with Wardancer Weapons--they can basically be anything you want them to be, and regardless of what they are, they'll act as Wardancer Weapons).
I personally think this was a good move on the part of GW, as it allows for people to continue using models such as their old Glade Guard without any sort of penalty what-so-ever.
