Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ey guys, im a newbie fantasy player. After 5 years playing 40K I just want to try fantasy.
What's up with WE? Rumors say that they suck eggs. can u prove this?
rate WE being, and if possible why is WE rated that way....
5 as the highest
4 above average
2 below average
1 they suck eggs
thanks a lot masters...
I hope this may help me choosing Wood elves as my new army,
I cant wait for the new codex.
For the forest, we die!
Well, from what I hear, they are very simlar to catachans of the Fantasy world. Useful in forest and only have a few line units. So I guess your at your best in the forest (hence wood)but I think their units can now stand up outside the forest.
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)
Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces
This post is basiacaly irrelevant and impossible to answer seeing as the wood elves are about to be re-released, so any current views or oppinions can be classed as out of date. As the wood elves currently stand, they are an army for patient veteran warhammer players, what they will become is anyones guess.
Oh, and welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy your stay.
No army itself can really be sucky or great, it depends on the skill of the player (although I think some armies are a little better than others). With an army like Wood Elves, I think that people need to plan out their tactics much more than an army like Ogres, who do almost nothing but charge. I would rate them as 4, they can have some mean units and characters.
When you choose an army you shold choose one that you will like playing, and you think has cool models. By the way, who said they suck eggs? Most people I know sort of call cheese at WE. Even more so at things like core dryads, the possibilaty of an all skrimishing army and Orion.
This opinion is based on the new Wood Elves, I have spent a lot of time looking through the codex at GW.

What would you do if a Carnifex "meow'ed" at you.
Some pictures of my models
Yes, an army can be sucky. You can have Gnoblar Fighters on 40mm bases, without Sharp Stuff and so they cost 20pts a pop. That's the only unit in army. Now, do they suck?
My guess is that wyte lite was talking about army books, not army LISTS. No need to be agressive.Originally Posted by Teron
And yes, I agree with him that all army books are balanced, at least roughly. Some armies forgive mistakes and are easy to play, others shine only in the hands of experienced players, so all are not equal (we're not playing chess!!), but there is a good overall balance.
I've never played a game of fantasy (nor have the rule book... yet), but personally I think I'd like to try WE on looks alone. The models are probably the best for fantasy that I've seen. A skirmishing army sounds interesting... I don't really like the look of things all ranked up somethimes.... but that could just be because of the paint jobs or something I've seen in catalogs and stuff.
