I don't know if you guys have read through this article on the GW website. I am curious about your opinions on the article.
I personally feel that Winter is overly harsh on the Elves. I can understand why it is harsh on the tree spirits, but during Winter it is the elves job to defend the forest, I would think that they become stubborn or something.
The rules also kind of declare the forest as a temperate deciduous forest. Do you think these rules would apply if they were it a coniferous forest or Jungle or a Rainforest.
the rules are harsh, but also for teh adverserie. We gain +1 s in the summer and in the winter your opponent has 10% less troops. so it is evenly balanced i'd say.
about the forrest, there should be some special rules for Athel Loren, maybe randomly attacking spites and/or dryads. Also some effect on magic, that certain lores like death and fire and chaos spells are at a disadvantage, representing ariels defence against the taint of chaos and the destruction of the forrest.
in aUK WD there are special rules using the Lustria book and for which special tables of encounters and events, they are pretty nice.
