i have a battle coming up against orcs and gobbos and VC against my ally brets and me either chaos or woodies (havent decided yet which), i really want to play my woodies as they seem like they would work better with brets than tzeentch (my tzeentch are very slow) the only problem i see is that our magic defense will suck 5 dispel dice in 4000 pts. any suggestions as what i should do. i have no idea as to how these guy play so IDK.:wacko:
My wood elves have torn up Orcs and Goblins. I haven't played against VC yet, which should change now that I'm no longer the only VC general around. I'd take WEs because they play so differently. It'd be a really interesting mix to have long-charging knights and highly maneuverable elves. Fluffwise, the Brets and WEs have allied themselves plenty of times.
Your archery combined with his knights will also be really great.
Take a spellweaver with the wand of wych elm and a dispel scroll. Then take a lvl 1 branchwraith with a cluster of radiants. That's 6 rerollable dispel dice right there, plus a scroll if you don't want to take a chance.
DavidVC04 has a excellent idea. get a lv4 with the wand, combine with some additionel dispelldice like the cluster and some dispeel scrolls and you have a nice sold defense which can also dish something out at your opponent. and manouver him a a lane were your froend can bring his lance formation to bear.

Against vc, depending on the blood line you could dance around him and peper him with arrows while your ally gets the charge of and takes care of weakened units. I have seen it happen and it infuriates the other player. Take alot of treesinging and piss of the chargers and bring lots of skirmishing units (which is alot considering we) Your speed should be no problem as long as your ally has your back.
if you're worried about enemy magic tell your ally to run damsels in his knight squads, they add some dispel dice and grant magic resistance to knight units.
As for army choice I can't really help you there, although you could speed tzeeitch up with knights, marader riders, and screamers. Then again the woodies are so gnarly^_^

well i played the game and it turned out a draw.
i ended up using woodies and to my worst fear they had heavy magic. the orc player had like 10 power dice, and the VC player had 12 or so. despite that we somehow managed. my brettonian ally didnt really kill that much but then again nobody really did so it was a draw. (game went till 4 or so in the morning)
