Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ive been playing woodelves for a short time but I like there playing style and am wanting to make an all treefoke army.(branchwraith, dryads, treekin, and treemen) the problem is im not sure what would be better, running 3 treekin or a single treeman. any thoughts out there?
"Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers; all of which are true and terrifying to know"
i would say treeman as well, mostly because Hes one of my best painted models, and because he adds quirkyness to a army. All armies need a quirkyness factor. What you could do is get a treeman ancient and combine him with a regular treeman, and have a super powerful flank attack unit.....
"This sure ain't no pansy Eldar Armor, Son"
185th Cadian Armored Div.
"One Shot, One Kill"
Western Border Patrol of Athel Loren
I'd go with a treeman, though I tend to use both in a 2000 pt list,
Treeman is super-tough to hurt, more so than treekin, he's stronger, has a better armor save, causes terror, and is stubborn.
Neither unit is likely to win against a ranked unit, but being stubborn, a treeman is more likely to stick around until reinforcements arrive, allowing your wardancers, wild riders, or treekin to hammer into the pinned unit, turning the combat in your favor. On their own, TK are much more likely to lose combat and run away.
Treeman have strangle roots, which is a terrific weapon that comes with no penalty.
Also, if you take a TM, you should consider a BSB. Rerolling stubborn tests can be critical.
I guess I have to be the one to disagree. Take the tree-kin. You can get 3 tree-kin and a tree-kin elder for the price and a treeman. Also if you look at the damage I have to back the effectiveness of the tree-kin vs. the treeman there is a big difference between 13 and 5 attacks. While I know the terror and higher S are good. Stubborn is also good, but fire or Warmachines will make much shorter work of a treeman compared to your tree-kin.
Also David, if he is looking to play all treefolk then a BSB would be out of character as they are elves.
In fear of sounding ignorant. what does BSB stand for?
