Hey guys, can anyone tell me what size base the sisters of twilight dragon is on? Is it 40mm or 50mm? I have the old WE dragon, and it only came with a 40mm base. It looks quite ridiculous on this tiny base, but I know rules about base size can be sensitive. I also have another use for its 40mm base, and have a spare 50mm one which I think came with my HE dragon.
So.. Is the new WE dragon on a 40 or a 50? And if 40, is it fine to put it on a 50?
I'm pretty sure the dragon goes on a 50mm base. I can't find anything conclusive to this effect, but given the US and overall power of the dragon, I'd have a hard time imagining it on a smaller base.
To answer your other question, putting a model on a larger base than is intended would probably be a bad idea - sure it would look cooler (and I'm always all for that) but it means you'd be in base contact with more models than you would normally be. I can see a lot of opponents having problems with this.
If your looking for a 50mm, don't bother, I couldn't find any for sale online. If you search GW's store you might find one.
From what I've heard this chart is still valid.
Alright, so according to that base chart the dragon is meant to have a 50mm base anyway. So some opponents might have a problem with my 40mm one even though it came with the dragon?
Thanks guys, I think I'll switch the dragon up to a 50mm base.I found both sizes on the GW website, but they come in packs of 20 or so and I don't want that many.. I already have a spare 50mm base. My HE dragon came with 2 for some reason.Originally Posted by ...got rending
Sounds to me like 50mm is a sure bet. Logic says it should be 50mm, and the chart from GW hath decreed that the size of the base shall be 50mm. If your opponent isn't happy with that, try juggling. People like juggling.
You should post some photos of this dragon in the showcase when you get it done. I'd like to see it.
