Hi, this is a friendly list I'm considering. I haven't played or painted a unit since 2004. I had an ultramarine army.

I plan on expanding this list to 2000 points total though I only like playing 1000/1500 point games.

I'm starting over and plan to start buying units for this army one by one if I can find a nice group of people where I live who play.

This list is also illegal. The wraithguard are only troop choices at 10 strong with a warlock.
The wraithlord has mismatched weaponry, anti-infantry and anti-tank don't go well together.
And no, the rules don't say anything about invul saves.
    EDIT: Welcome to the forums.

    Thanks for the welcome!

I fixed the list and made some changes, I don't own the models now so it shouldn't be a problem. The first thing I plan on buying anyway is the squad of Dire Avengers followed by the Wraithguard in packs of 2. I'm in no hurry to get this list completed, I have no one to play with though since I'm going into university I reckon I may find some people. I'm get more joy from painting. The last time I played would be in 1999/2000 I was only 12 back then, lol.

And thanks for pointing out the mistake, I went into the codex and saw that you are in fact correct.

10 avengers in a serpent is a strong troop choice. Still, it may be worth it to upgrade the serpents catapults to a cannon as that will add hits against AV10-12.

Rangers are cool. Pathfinders are twice as cool.

Does the Vypers come with shuriken cannons?

Dark Reapers Exarch is a waste of points, IMO.

The Wraithlord..you're acually paying 170 pts for two shots a round?!? That's very bad indeed. ..And not bad in a good way, I'm afraid.

    Some suggestions:

The Avengers/Wave Serpent are a solid choice, Bladestorm is excellent but you may not be able to scrape up the points in a 1K list.

I would upgrade the Rangers to Pathfinders, they are a solid choice too.

Try to find some points to get the Autarch a Fusion Gun for busting tanks.

Possibly drop the Reapers as they aren't very mobile, 3 are not that effective - especially if one has a missle launcher - if you do have to shoot a tank with the missle launcher, the Reaper shots are wasted. If you keep em definitely drop the missle launcher, maybe even the exarch entirely. If I take them I take 5 with no exarch usually. If you drop them thats a lot of points free for other things like a close combat unit which is where you seem to be lacking, such as Scorpions to protect your Rangers and Pathfinders with. Scorpions can also infiltrate which works well when combined with infiltrating Pathfinders.

Wraithlord never twin link - your paying twice as much only to get a reroll if you miss. If you hit the first time (50%) then the second one is wasted. Most people nowadays either run with a single weapon if your saving points, usually a BL or EML, or run with one of each then it can fire both each turn. EML also gives you some added range and a ranged anti infantry attack if you end up needing it.
