I play a Farsight Enclave list too, and mine is based very much on the attacking frame of mind, since the fluff says that his followers spend much time in HtH training. Therefore my comments regarding your list will be based around the background to Farsight, so please feel free to disregard!

You have a Shas'el for obligatory HQ, with close ranged weapons and Irid Armour. I would suggest making him a Shas'O for the extra wound and BS, taking the Target Array points and using them for Stimulant Injector. This guy is going to be going up close, probably joining the Farsight Deathbomb unit, so give him extra defence and survival.

Your Gun Drone Squadrons have too many drones in each, so you can use this oversight to find extra points to use elsewhere. However, first things first.

The Best thing about an FSE (Farsight Enclave) is the huge Bodyguard unit he gets to take. You have 6 XV8s in your list, all in the Elites section. You might like to consider using just a couple of these for the obligatory Elite unit and taking the rest in a Bodyguard unit for Farsight. 4 Fireknives (MP/PR/MT) would be pretty standard stuff, except that the Bodyguard are all Shas'vres which allows you to take Target Array on each one and Hard-wire the Multitrackers. Obviously you could alter the loadout to suit yourself - a Helios or Sunforge is nice to have available for the odd Character killing opportunity - but Fireknife is a good general-purpose unit. A couple of Hard-wired Target Locks are also useful, but no more than that for four suits.

The Elite unit could be more Fireknives, but I would tend to take Deathrain+ here to add to the long-range support with added medium-vehicle-killer pottential. Team Leader is as high a promotion as you need to gain the free BK, so forget about 'Vre level.

Fast Attack: I'm inclined to suggest you remove the Gun Drone Squadrons completely and split the two Piranhas into separate units. The Gun Drones are useful, but their points are more useful elsewhere. You have a total of 2 whole Markerlights in this army list - you need to have more. By taking this 240pt pot, you could give your unmounted Fire Warrior units Shas'ui Team Leaders with HWTL, ML and HWDC+ 2 Marker Drones each. This would give you a good set of Markerlights and leave you with spare points to fund another XV8.

Broadsides are fine, although you could perhaps include a HWTL on the Team Leader for that "opportunity shot", or to allow one of the BASS to get off a shot when LOS is blocked for the other one.

Hammerhead is ok too; SMS are my preference because of the slightly longer range and other rules, but if points are a problem then take the BCs.

Troops: See my suggestion regarding the Gun Drones and the increasing of the Fire Warrior units.

    Hope some of this helped.

Love Farsight, his fluff, his rules everything about him is great.

This guy is one of the best battlesuit configurations IMO. However, I dont like Iridium Armour one bit at all. A 2+ save is good, but I find its not worth sacrificing the Jump assault move for a D6 roll. As a general thing, all Shas'Els should be equipped with a targetting array, otherwise you might as well take a Shas'O. He should be deployed with a drone squad, and use them as protection rather than the armour, I find deepstriking to be rather tricky sometimes. Or, if you still want the deepstriking, consider swapping the armour for stim injectors, FNP is always a good rule to have.

Deathrains are always good in any Tau army. Although, they dont really need any shield drones. At the long range they have, and if you use them right and JSJ from cover to cover, they should be fine. Pluis itll save you 40 points.

Burning Eyes, excellent marine and termie slayers. Shield drones are more useful on this squad, if they get up into close range for the rapid fire, the return fire might be a little hectic. Nothing wrong with this squad.

As what Eiglepulper said, you should get these some markerlights. If they are remaining static, its the best place you can put them in this list.

Nothing wrong with this squad, love the mech squads. In recent experience, I found Pulse rifles to be better than carbines at close range. If your looking for pinning, the two drones on the devilfish can be used for that.

Not really a fan of the piranha, but Ive heard many people tell me they can be quite effective. Again as Eiglepulper said, these should be separated, so you can target more things at once.

Drones can only have a max of 8. Drop one of these squads, and have the one left protect your HQ suits. Use the points for more markerlights, or invest in some Stealth suits.

I too find the SMS works better for me. Longer range, and no line of sight is always helpful. Good work, nothing wrong here.

Sniper teams are good MEQ killers. I dont have any personal experience with them, but I beleive they are quite effective in what they do.

Overall, I see you have alot of anti MEQ units in your army, and you are sort of lacking in anti infantry, mostly relying on your few firewarriors and drone squad. Stealth suits are always a good unit to have. The rate of fire they can put out, and the protection from the stealth fields, they are well worth the points. But all in all, not a bad list, congrats and peace out.

    A couple things to say...
Bodyguard: i know its the best part about playing o'shova renegades, but i cant bring myself to spend 500 points on 4 fireknives to back him up. i just dont have the points. and a 5 man battle suit squad draws heavyfire from you very scared oppenent. i prefer to let o'shovas IC status keep him from harm untill he can drop the enemies elite assult troopers in a single round of cc so i can gloat "HAHA yo got beat by a tau in CC"

My shas'el: for starters, i cant lose the iridium armour. when it came out i decided to have a model with it, regardless, simply so i could model it. as a bonus, it protects him from the very annoying krak missles my friends like to dump on my suits. but i have taken into consideration the stims. FNP is pretty good against smallarms, and autocannon fire which, since deepstriking, im am likely to come accross. hopefully my piranhas can get up there fast enough to drone screen him from the lascannons.

drones: srry, misread that part. well their chopped down now. i agree, piranhas are better alone (before i had 3 piranhas taking up my 3 FA slots)

Broadsides: hehe, forgot to type the target lock on, they had one all along, i just never wrote it.

Markerlights: Gue'vesa make much better marker pots and are a lot cheaper than spending 20 points on a single fire warrior to get one. just 2 more points and i even get 2 pulse rifles!! yay!! )

Deathrains: umm..ya...i dropped the shield drones. only only ever put them on because when i play my friend there is usually minimal cover. basically 4 corners of a ruined bulding and a hill. basically an open plain. i was thinkin worst case cover scenario.

thx for the input, and what do ya think of the revised list?

List is fair enough. If I might suggest one thing: drop a single Fire Warrior and amalgamate the two 6-man teams into a single 11-man team with a Shas'ui. This gets the unit Bonded for free. Yes, it cuts down on the scoring units by one, but at least the bigger unit will always have a chance to rally as long as it fits the normal rules other than the <half strength one.

I also was just wondering: if you're planning on a Fish of Fury attack, (which I assume you are?) then why have you chosen Carbines over Rifles for the Fire Warriors?

necessity. i have 12 guys with carbines and a devilfish and i need to use them.

also, carbine fit the image of an APCsquad better that the longer rifles. and im not goint to take carbines in a footslogging squad . they just wouldnt get there in time.

lastly, i prefer the 18" range to 12" because if your within 12" to shoot them, they can charge you (taus worst nightmare)

    anyways, thanx for the help

List looks good. I didn't know you could have human reserves with markerlights, cool.

Anyway, I'd make a teamleader out of the deathrain squad and give them target lock just like you did for the broadside squad. Spliting fire from this group can be very useful, espcially with multiple speeders or transports running around.

If you FOF properly, then you shouldnt be worried about being assaulted. Your list is a big improvement, and should do well. I dont think putting markerlights on the auxilleries is a good idea. The unit is small and fragile, and one turn of shooting from any squad and youve lost your markerlights. If you deploy them in cover, they should be ok for a few turns, good luck with your list, tell us how it goes
