Winged Hive Tyrant
4 Tyranid Guard
just a friendly reminder, army lists are better to go into the army list sub-forum so those list experts can more easily locate and comment on your list
I'm no Nid expert, but I have them and can lend some advice
May I note now, letting us know the weapons and Biomorphs of your creatures will help us give advice to you, and make a more efficient list 8X
Nonetheless, I always give Hive Tyrants Warp Blast- it helps you try take out Armour, and gives them something to shoot when they are not in HTH.
If walking, I like to give a Tyrant 3x Tyrant Guard, 2x Twin Linked Devourers and Warp Blast- he has the shooting for nearly all situations (excluding Terminators) and the Guard can keep him alive and help him in HTH with their Rending Claws. Because he has the Bodyguard, I also like to give him Shadow in the Warp. Expensive, but has great potential in absorbing firepower, and your enemy will quickly learn to fear him
Most people prefer to have the Warriors as simple Leaping/Rending Claws/Scything Talons broods. Quick, painful, and quite cheap. Giving many biomorphs will make them utterly expensive.
Some like to have Devourer Warriors with maybe a Venon Cannon, but I stick with the HTH Rending Warriors. Eithwe way, seeing as you can take 3x Elites choices, I reckon you should take 1 Lictor and two lots of 3x Warriors.
I always take Warp Blast on Zoanthropes. It's a great way to improve your offensive, and anti-tank when your horde draws closer to the enemy. Many people have wasted an all important Lascannon on them, forgetting that Synapse ignores instant death heh heh. By the same note, giving them synapse can help keep your army in line, and giving catalyst can ensure those broods of small creatures have a chance of still getting some attacks before they die in Close Combat (especially the stronger Space Marines, or quicker Eldar). Shadow in the Warp I usually keep for a Hive Tyrant, Tyrants have a greater chance of staying alive to keep that power having an effect in the game.
As for upgrades, that's up to you, but again- knowing their upgrades can help us to tool him out with their biomorphs
genestealers are great, and can be run naked. More the better. If you *really* want, they can have Extended Carapace to protect them from Space Marine Bolters and other types of small armour-save negating weapons, but again, naked is good, saving you points for more bodies
Hormagaunts are wickidly quick.. I like them but you must remember they are not very strong, hurting marines can be a problem. Still, I like them, they are super fast (great for zooming through terrainto catch the opponent off guard too due to the Tyranids special rule of fast terrain movement)
I'm not really sure what your killergaunts are, what stuff do they have?
So, all in all, I like it.. but we need to know what weapons and biomporphs you want your stuff to have.
Hit us back and let us know Champion
