Hey everyone will be playing off against a Tau list soon in city fight and just would like some help.
the tau will look like this
Tau commander (geard toward light infantry Airbursting fragmentation, Burstcanon or misslepods)
3x stealth suits (all burst cannons)
12x firewarriors (hardly ever deploys in) Devilfish
12 x kroot + shaper and 6+ armour
hammerhead (rail gun + smart missle systems)
My eldar normaly look like this it is acceptable to changes (noted) i also have 4x Reapers if something could be dropped for them.
Farseer (goes with DA , dooms their target )
Singing Spear =83pts
Striking Scorpions (can be given inflitrate if neccesary)
Stalker = 113pts
Guardians (can be changed for rangers, no conceal = cover in cities of death )
Scatter Laser =95pts
1xExarch: Blade storm, dual avenger catapults =152pts
TL Scatter lasers
Shuriken Cannon = 135pts
Shuriken Cannon = 170pts
Total = 748pts
(Sorry Chere about the "tau : how do we beat them", )
drop the guardians and replace them with more scorpions, take out the hammerhead early and u should be good there. btw that's a poor tau list don't expect them to be that soft every time

We bring only death, and leave only carrion. It is a message even a Human can understand.
With the word cityfight in mind, I'll also make a few suggestions. The guqrdians should have a shurikan cannon as opposed to a scatter laser. The reason is that the scatter laser is a heavy weapon, and the shurikan cannons isn't. Heavy weapons are fine when you have nice clear fields of fire, but they are almost non existent in a cityfight scenario. I second the thing about swapping doom for fortune. And id you have the falcon, it would likely be a better buy as opposed to a fire prism. Range in cityfight isn't as important as sheer firepower.
platforms allow move and shoot
otherwise good(everyone else got what i wanted to say.)
Zoe: Doesn't the bible say something specific about killing?
Preacher: Yes, but it's somewhat fuzzy on the subject of kneecaps.
How or why would u post your mate's army list online, he is also a nob and no matter how much you post things about tau they will always beat u ALWAYS!!!!
Not bad, I myself would be tempted to drop the serpent but I suppose it makes sense to have at least one other vehicle. I agree that a Falcon would be nice, but some other anti-tank would be better (EMLs are perfect against Tau, anti-infantry after vehicles are gone). He shouldn't have bothered giving his Kroot a save (or shaper) as every time I've faced or seen them they've died, and when in more numbers. I beat and killed 30 of them when they had Hounds and a shaper using a SM captain (2 wound kind) with a PF and an apothecary. Then I beat another 30 (without Hounds but with shaper) using Eldrad and two Warlocks. In both cases they ran and either went off the board or didn't regroup before the end of the game. Though I've killed Kroot other times using guns, as such I suggest not ignoring them but not overestimating them.
The Scorps do need infiltrate, but with regards to the Avengers either give the Seer either Guide or Fortune. You could swap him for an Autarch though to give them a power weapon for after they use bladestorm (If anything's still alive).

I would take out a scorpion and replace it with a Scorpion Claw for the Exarch, giving them Shadowstrike.
And maybe instead of the wave serpent, I would take another Scorpion Squad with Claw+Stalker+Shadowstrike.
Note, ALWAYS dart inbetween buildings for cover if you're scared of armour piercing and line of sight, which Tau need desperately to shoot. From what ive read, You can hide behind a few inches of wall and be perfectly safe from tau shooting.
I would drop the Fire Prism for either Distort Cannon Heavy Weapon platforms, vypers, or even another scorpion squad with claw+stalker+shadowstrike.
Id imagine Scorpions reign supreme in Cityfight, as its essentially a concrete jungle.
