Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well, the gaming for giving tourney is comming up in about a month and a half and I hope to make it back to CT for it. I don't know if I want to run my normal flying circus list. It's a solid list, just that it's kinda getting oldish and not as effective for the moment, I've lost several games with is so I've used my space wolves. However I would liek to start playing with the 'crons again and I came up with the following list. It's different and I would only have to buy some pariahs, I want to use them 'cause I want to.
IIRC it's still a thousand point tourney, adeptjosh correct me if I'm wrong.
Lord - 190
6x Pariahs - 216
2x10 Warriors - 360
3x Destroyers - 150
7x Scarabs - 84
Total points: 1000
I was thinking about putting D feilds on my scarabs but I like to use all the points alloted in my list, I couldn't make it fit right I feel that this list would fare pretty well save for the fact that it would be slow for the most part.
I don't know what to expect this year for armies, last year there was another necron army several space (and chaos) marine armies an ork army and an eldar army. I'm hoping there'll be more people but I don't know what's going on as of now.
All criticism is welcome. Man it's been a long time since I've made a list...
Back to the college work! Thanks.
The list looks good, although I would get rid of the Lightning Field on the Lord, as it serves little use unless he is attached to a swarm of Scarabs and he has a Destroyer Body.
I also recommend you get rid of the Pariahs unless you know your opponent is going to be using pyskers, and replace them with 3 Destroyers to help bolster your firepower and add 3 more Scarabs to fill out the swarm.
Well like I said I felt like using parisahs... However I want to use a bunch of them but still keep some mobility there. I know they don't go hand in hand in 1k points, I don't think it'll hurt to try it at least once. Maybe I'll proxy some pariahs during my October break and see how it turns out. I'd rather find out what you guys would change but keeping the pariahs there before break comes around.
Well im going to assume your going to run the phalanx like this.
[ Warriors] [lord + paraihs] [warriors]
This allows you to give the orb effects to both warrior squads while he goes with the pariahs killing stuff in cc. And your scarabs can be put anywhere you need wounds. And the destroyers are free to pester tanks.

Yeah, I was thinking about using that kind of strategy, however it'd be cool to figure out a different tactic other than the phalanx... I guess I could keep the warriors ahead by a bit to keep the pariahs out of range, via target priority...
I like how you want to utilize the Pariahs, as I do too. I have been debating to get either five Immortals or five Pariahs. The reason being Immortals are solid, but common. Pariahs require a planning, position and patience.
Anyway - with the current list, which I think has decent potential in a 1,000 point game, the phalanx is probably the only way to go and I would recommend the following deployment:
[Lord + Pariahs]
Send the scarabs to CC early and march everything else forward. When a Warrior platoon gets into CC send in the Lord + Pariahs to help out. With this in mind, maybe upgrade the Lord with a warscythe.
This is what I had planned, if I acquired the Pariahs into my army. With the gauss blaster and Pariah characteristics, they could do well, I think.

The question still stands on whether or not I should modify the list to include d-feilds on the scarabs. Should I? I don't know 'cause I tend to have good luck with shooting at vehicles but it'll help to have the extra glance chances if I can get into cc with a vehicle...
I usually always take D-fields. Alas, it tends to also be a mistake, as I'm usually fighting skimmer vehicles, and even with all those dice, i just dont roll enough 6's. But against tread tanks, they sound pretty solid. Plus, they are nice for against high T creatures who you wouldnt normally be able to hurt ya?
PM me about Aurora Prime Vassal fights! Willing and ready!
Get the D fields. It's a cheap upgrade.
D. fields only work on vehicles though, it won't help against creatures.
The pariahs look like they could be fun.
I would suggest against the chronometron and the lightning field. With either case, if our using it then something has gone wrong (your in cc).
I usually run full units of scarabs and destroyers as well. You could get this by dropping Pariahs, but that's your prerogative.
Overall don't forget to use the warriors. They aren't something to tack on, they are the main body of the army. I forgot to use my warriors for a while, and while I did alright I didn't do as well as when I focused my army around the warriors.
