Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have a realy crapy tau army and i dont know if its what i have or if i dont upgrade them enoph but they suck
2 ciris battle suits
24 fire warriors
17 kroots with 2 kroot hounds
6 gun drones
1 sniper drone team
if any one could help me so i know what esle to get or if they know how to upgrade this army so that it works please tell me
I think you should get a few hammerheadz & a few Broadside battlesuites.8Y
I think you need some armour in this army. at least a devilfish (unless you are aming for a static army that is) and a hammerhead gunship with a railgun ( a broadside suit should do the trick if you want to go static). This should get you very well off. altough take a look in the armylists subforum and look how people upgrade there crisis suits and such. this might help you on your way, as LO don't approve of just asking for lists.
I hope I gave you some pointers you could use
-lurking in the shadows of LO.

Hi, a couple of things. Please browse around on the forum and other topics similar to this for the general opinion on what to get for your army, as many people are just going to repeat similar things here. Also, on an unrelated topic, please try to work on spelling and grammar - take the time to spell correctly and capitalize your posts to make sure they are nice and neat.
Hey Segev. Glad to see you're using the forums ^^
Anyways, I'm not really able to help you myself but like others have said check out similiar threads. Particularly the stickies. Here's a link to a page with lots of other helpful links! http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ad.php?t=80672 (Index of Tau Articles and Tactica)
Iv'e learned lots of information off this website; i bet you can too 8X
Goodluck! Hopefully we can play soon.
Ok, from your list I can see you have a couple of fire warrior squads and a kroot unit backed up with a gun drone squadron. This forms a good core but they are limited in their firepower by being equipped with basic weaponry.
I wouldn't bother with the sniper drones or vespid, yes the models are fairly nice but they aren't that great gamewise.
Because of the way the Tau army list is structured we have no special or heavy weapons in our troops choices, we are therefore forced to take them in our heavy support and elite units in the form of battlesuits and hammerheads.
You need 1 crisis suit to be a commander, a Shas'el with a targeting array tends to be preferable on this forum as it is cheaper and is only really weaker in close combat. This doesn't really matter as none of your models should be in close combat anyway.
On top of this a few more crisis suits would be helpful. Tailor them for a specific purpose and then use them for it.
Some useful combinations are:
Deathrain: Twin-linked missile pods and targeting array, useful for taking out transports.
Helios: Fusion Blaster, Plasma Rifle and Multi-tracker, good for enemy characters, monstrous creatures and the rear end of tanks.
Sunforge: Twin-linked Fusion Blasters and targeting array, this is a tank buster full stop!
Blinding Spear: Plasma Rifle, Burst Cannon and Multi-tracker, good against infantry, although your fire warriors should be handling them.
Fireknife: Missile Pod, Plasma Rifle and Multi-tracker, this is probably the most common combination, it can handle pretty much everything except heavy armour and is a good choice to use to begin with.
As a modelling tip I would advise magnetising the weapons and hardpoints for crisis suits as this allows you to fiddle with the weapons loadout without being forced to buy more battlesuits.
In addition to the crisis suits you will need a heavy support slot. For a static tau army go with broadside suits. On the other hand if you want a mobile element to your army then take a hammerhead or two, with at least one of them packing a railgun and a multi-tracker.
As a rule of thumb I never leave home without at least 5 crisis suits and my two railgun-toting hammerheads, stands me in good stead.
I hope this helps you, also there are a few stickies at the top of the forum that are very helpful.
i face from 1000 to 1500 point armys most of the time
10 kroot with 10 hounds
these guys can assist in protecting the static elements of your army
