Welcome to Librarium Online!
While I'm limited with spending and such, and my list is a bit related to what I would get as gifts and what was cheap I still have some flexibility and the eldar are a little spoiled in how much we can shift psychic powers and exarc abilities just on our say so.
I also have
guardians (lots, could convert some I haven't painted to stormies)
3 support weapons
some eldar jetbikes
Alright the list
Farseer, jetbike, withblade, fortune 115pts
10 scorps with exarc w claw and both abilities 212
2x 6 men regular fire dragon units 192pts
5x 5 man DA units 372pts total
1 6 man DA squad
5 Spears w Exarc, star lance, skilled rider, withdraw 237pts
2x falcon with pulse, scatter, shuri, holo and spirits 185x2=370pts
And sometimes I'll shave the troops or something a bit to fit in a shadow weaver just so I have a heavy support choice I don't care about to place first. Which sometimes matters.
The common tactic I often try for is to use the cheap DA units to set up what appears to be a battle line. Often my opponent will mirror me, or they'll just set up in a line because that's what they do. With the number of troop choices taken usually they'll finish deploying first. And I'll put the spears, farseer and infiltrating scorps in complementary postions. Falcons hide
On turn one I surge my modile units hard to one flank (the on with the scorps) DA units on the other flank may even run back behind cover if it leaves enemy units with nothing to shoot at.
The farseer will fortune the spears and use him 18" normal move to keep up with their turbo. So they may be a little exposed but they have a +3 invul save with a reroll. Falcon usually only move 12 so they can fire but sometimes more depending.
On turn 2 almost all of my forces should slam into about a third of theirs. Scorps and spears charging. Fire dragons blowing things/units up. DA's on that side and falcons fireing away. Hopefully a good third of their force is left out of the action entirely out on the other side.
Then I tend to roll things up.
Of course I adapt as needed. Usually against dark eldar I just focus on taking out the dark lances and anything else that can hurt the falcon from a long distance away. They usually don't ahve that much and it's fragile. Then I'm free to violate them for the rest of the game from a distance.
This should go in the army list section, as an enhanced user you should know this by now (a lil too much partying and not enough sleeping perhaps?) . Anyways I'll move on.
First of all the first rule to using dire avengers is to ALWAYS give them an exarch and bladestorm, second rule is ALWAY use them in 10's. The ONLY time this isn't the case is in a combat patrol or you're putting them in a Falcon and sit on the objective on turn 6.
The common shooty setup is this: 10 DA, exarch w/twin SC and bladestorm 152 or the tarpitty set up 10 DA exarch w/power weapon, shimmershield, bladestorm and defend 177
Shining spears need an Autarch, 11 attacks aint gonna do it, since you dont have one I'd leave the spears out of this list.
Scorpions aren't too good without support so i'd opt for a couple of squads of stormies i like this set up: 15 stormies, 2 flamers, warlock with conceal. 172 (dont have codex with me so correct me if im wrong)
Dragons in falcons I dont like as a cheap guardsmen unit around the tank and its easily protected (chered's tactic, i take no credit for thinking it up although i should have)
Your falcons are actually cheaper than that, by the points values maybe you forgot to write the scatter laser?
Your farseer I'd take mindwar and a singing spear for a 3 point short ranged lascannon.

Whoops! I thought I was in the army list section when I posted this (yes I need more sleep). Do we have any mods that can move this? It just looks silly in here.
Opp and now I need to get going.
farseer needs a Singing spear.
I dont think you need two squads of fire dragons really. Unless both are riding in falcons ( which, as has been stated, is not always an effective use of your squads/points).
Combine the two 5 man units into one ten man unit of DA. Drop the other unit of add them up to 10 men. Make room for points by dropping one unit of fire dragons. Get an exarch with bladestorm and 2 shuris at the very least on those DA squads.
Get a scatter laser on your falcons, or another long range weapon. shuricannon is too short ranged for this guy really. You should be shooting from turn 1 or 2. a 36" gun will compliment your pulse laser better.
I really dont think shining spears will be sufficient back up for your scorps maybe get another CC unit in this list somewhere.
Added the scatter lasers into the falcon descriptions (I just forgot to type them in).
Usually the scorps are supported by the spears and both falcon along with the dragons. Who can shoot and immediatly remount on the next turn or who once deployed can simply tromp along firing at whatever the scorps might charge.
I've started a thread in the main board on DA. And often as not I do use the spear. I just hate wasting points, and the witchblade does help on the charge.
Anybody think it would be worth it to drop my DA count and give the farseer stones and mind war?
drop the shining spears, they're terrible without an autarch, 11 attacks on the charge isn't enough to deal with termies and the like (trust me on this one, i couldnt convert an autarch that looked good so i've been relying on my 11 attacks and it doesn't work), you have to clear your killzone because if you dont the termies will smash you and make that unit ineffective.
And a singing spear is 3 points, how could you not have 3 points to spare?

Eh it's just that I get left with an annoying 9 pts left when I take the spear instead of that last DA. It often gets in though, since I have two farseers so I can just pick.
I've had a great time with the spears so far so I'm reluctant to drop them. I haven't had to charge termies though so maybe I should try and play against more MEQ and see if I'd get burned.
What I can say is that even a lone unit of spears is great against anything without power weapons when backed up by a fortuning Farseer. They do horrible things to Tau and IG, even when taking on nearly a whole flank on their own. Still though, wouldn't supporting fire from six fire dragons be as effective as an autarch if up against termies?
You'll see, even terminator could reduce the squad to under 50% with a bit of luck. And ask if you can use your seer as an autarch, the autarch get around 40% of the squad's kills so use one, s6 power weapon attacks hitting on 3's killin on 2's. simply awesome. against guard and tau use any assult unit mounted and watch the masscre.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the 2 units of dragons. And yes, whatever is left after those units shoot should be more than easy enough for the spears to mop up with.
The only real beef I have with this list is the 5 man DA squads, but you should know my thoughts on that matter now, lol. That and your battleline might be a little too strung out, because if you don't time it right, your army will get eaten piece by piece.
None of the units, except maybe scorps in cover and turbo boosting spears, are resilient enough, and if you split your units up like planned, it may be possible for the enemy to perform a 'nutcracker' tactic - swallowing one part of your force while it is unsupported by the other before turning and doing the same to your footsloggy component.
To be clear I'm trying to nutcracker them. That is to say that unless I have a reason the scorps, spears, farseer, flacons, dragons and maybe a pair of DA squads will all be in the same area. Which is an enemy flank.
The DA on the weak side are usually spending their turns fleeting for cover. They are deployed there so the oponent is more likely to deploy along a broad line instead of in a corner, to take objectives later, or ninja into a good position for later.
I'll just use a singing spear though and maybe add a starcannon to one of the falcons with the extra points from one less DA.
Actually it hasn't come up yet but maybe this army would be in a lot of trouble in an Omega mission since I rely on units working together. I suppose they might be messed with as well. And I think a lot of players just like doing gamma.
Also I could try running an autarch as a proxy. He's more expensive and I'll miss my rerolls but it could be worth it.
Any thoughts on the farseer? It's tempting to replace some DA with stones and mind war so I can cherry pick those powerweaponed seargents out. But it makes for a 155pt unit with questionable odds of not killing themselves mid battle. Darn GW and lowering farseer toughness!!!!
