I think this is all right, this is my first post so any and all comments are welcome. This was just ment for freindly play.
The hawks were for anti tank but ive never tryed em for this role so im not sure how they fare. The guardians can be fortuned and are marching up withe the avatar / wraithlord combo to stop them being boged down and ive always find they survive well. The shimmer sheild and power weapon was just to add a bit of cc ump to the squad and lend a hand in the guardian / lord /avatar / farseer groop who all move up to aid the banshees. The prism was a fun add coz ive not realy tryed it and falcons are hard to earn there points back ive found. ill scratch my head for another idea, thanks for the input.
10 avengers are going to on av. hit 50% of the time and they have longer range there slightly more points but are WELL worth it. and they do better in cc due to defend and the power weap. and there cheaper then your squad of gaurdians costing you only slightly more at 163
if you want anti tank get fire dragons although haywire gernades are nice. chances are there gonna shoot the hell out of them if they know any thing about them.
And upgrade the rangers to pathfinders. seriously they arnt worth it unless they are
but its your list. ;]
[quote=Gingerfish;1046944]i still think dropping the gaurdians for the 10 avengers with defend power weap and shimmer would be a better bet then the 15 gaurdians considering bolter fire ignores there armor lol....
They have conceal and can be fortuned, if anything they draw fire away from the more important squads like the DA and Hawks. Trying to crunch some numbers but if i draop the hawks and the prism would a falcon with warlocks and singing spear be viable? hunt tanks and ok in cc. oh and the pathfinders too, they get scout, better save and better ap 1 chance, uve convinced me!

I'm an advocate of swooping hawk squads - I use them regularly and to great effect. The set up that I run is usually 6-8 Hawks, Exarch with Power Sword and Skyleap. Deploy them normally and out of cover and then skyleap them on the first turn.
They are really good anti-tank hunters - just make sure you deep strike them out of sight. They are even better if you get an Autarch with fusion blaster, power sword and wings (and mandiblasters) in there with them.
A word on fire dragons - yes they can hunt tanks but they have to be mounted to do so and will lose some of their effectiveness. Use them to kill anyhting that is threatening your lines, whatever comes at you these guys will deal with, so don't focus solely on anti-tank with them.
As far as your list goes, yes it looks ok. Make the rangers pathfinders for sure, I wouldn't really consider a mounted farseer and seer council till at all. Just not good enough for me to justify the points on, i'm afraid.
Like I said, I'm not a fan of it and have never tried it, so you might want to get other opinions on it before you take mine. While warlocks and that are good with tanks (s9) and wound stuff easily in cc, they don't ignore armour saves and are still only t3 (admitedly with a 4+ invul.) I personally don't think that that would be an effective use of the points - and I use hawks (regarded as a useless unit by the majority of forum-dwellers)
By dropping the hawks and fire prism gives you 314 points.
Theres a few things you can do with that ;]
For starters lets upgrade your rangers to path finders ;] 25 points.289 left
you could add a squad of Shinning spears with exarch both exarch powers and a star lance for 237 points which is a awesome tank hunting group. ;] this would leave you with 52 points to play with.
Another option would be Autarch with jet bike mandiblasters laser lance and fusion gun for 140 points which is a awesome tank killer but he would need some support maybe a few spears to tag along with him.
for kicks you could make a awesome warlock unit with 8 warlocks all with destructor and singing spears for 304 points ;] not sure how effective it would be but 8 str 9 shots a turn + 8 flamer templates before h2h would be quite amusing ;] if not completly destructive haha
iuno tool around with your options ill be waiting
