Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok this is my list. There is fluff behind it, and the models aren't the same as the ones GW makes. I have a color test model if anybody wants to see.
HQ: Shas'O Suit with TL Fusion Blaster, Shield Generator, Iridium Armour, Stimulant Ejector.
He deep strikes in, shoots someone up, then charges into assault.
Troops: 2 Firewarrior squads, 6 men each. Shas'ui leader, Drone controller with 2 marker drones.
1 FW squad, 6 men. Shas'ui leader, drone controller with 1 marker and 1 gun drone
This is my small gunline. The enemy should try to charge this. I can lay down some markers and use these guys as bait
Fast Attack: 2 Squads of Vespid Sting Wings (XV 0.2 warp jump suits) 9 members, 1 leader.
My main focus. These guys do nothing but move very fast, and fight.
Heavy Support: Broadside with team leader, Advance Stabilization System, multi-tracker, and 2 HW marker drones.
My anti-tank and backup plan. He can move to cover, shoot down things up close or far away, and has more markers to assist.

Most of the stuff your going to fight in close combat should have something to deny his armour-save anyway right?
Other than that, interesting unit to say the least.
I think its an interesting list Jaffar, hopefully it will do good for you when you give it a few tries.

alright jaffy, ill give this my thoughts. ive played tau only a few times but im big into learning of their tactics, and im basing this partly on what ive heard from supposed veterans on multiple forums, and general tactical wisdom and points efficiency.
firstly, the good master shas'o. now theres a tough cookie, that will take a dedicated turn to kill. but you could save points if you trust your abilities as a player. from what ive seen from experienced tau players, if you use the suits best ability right, JSJ, you can save a load of points from the defensive upgrades, not to mention iridium slows you down. that way its also not as big a points sink if you do lose the sha'so. also, a shas'el with upgraded bs can be cheaper as well. but using the shas'o with his uber BS skill, i would consider dropping the twin linked status in favor of another weapon, maybe missile pod, as you will only use the twin linked on rolls of one. deepstriking is fun but risky, and tau suits are so mobile you can just have him jumping reliably around the board shooting, and he cant charge on the turn he deepstrikes in, plus do you want something so expensive in cc?0.o
next, the ballsy footslogging firewarriors. the markerlight drones are uber expensive, pathfinders would be more effective but then youd have to take a devilfish which wouldnt fit your army style i think. if you do have them so fully upgraded, id really consider beefing up the numbers of this pricey squad as six will die very quickly, even in terrain.
next the vespid. sure people dont like em for various reasons, but hey, they do what they do, have fun with em. they certainly will be hated by marines so long as you keep em in cover long enough to deliver their payload. whats this warp suit thing? fluff conversion?
broadside looks solid enough for anti tank, but a dedicated heavy weapon volley will take him down.
may i suggest fewer expensive marker drones? you have so almost more than your army needs, though they are awesome. maybe drop them for gun or shield drones for the broadside? just some things to consider.
too many, gave up counting. rough estimates of 10% even steven, 25% omg i lostorz! and 65% PWNED NEWBS! ^^
<Tossy> Crons are freaking invincible!
Yes this is mostly fluff, but I will be playing it. The 2 Fusion Blasters is fluff and how I'm making the model (think of the artwork where the battlesuit and ethereal are jumping out of the orca), but I guess I could find a 'count as' for it. Iridium might go, I just wanted something thicker between my opponent and him. And yes I am crazy, I will gladly throw that expensive commander at the enemy lines. Shas'o is for all the increased stats.
Go vespids! I will run down your fast infantry and tie them down.
I think the Broadside could swap the 2 markers for 2 shields. then I'll change that 1 gun drone to marker in the FW squad.
Minus Iridium and a marker I should get enough to add additional fire warriors. I didn't use up all 1k points with this list.
And read my sig. Even sloganizer agrees, Tau in CC never die!
