I'm putting together a 1000pt list for possible use during the Xmas Holidays. I'm open to suggestions for improvement.
Dracon with Punisher, THelm, SF, CD, PGrenades and Haywire Grenades (116pts)
x2 Wych Squad w/ PGrenades and WW (7) mounted on Raider (204pts ea)
+Succubus with Agonizer PGrenades and Haywire Grenades.
Sniper Squad (100pts)
Raider Squad (5) w Blaster and DL (110pts)
X2 Ravager w/2 Dissies and Night Shields (135pts ea)
This is a very troop light list, and I would play the opposite, but that's a preference thing. I just love me my warriors.
I would use a splinter cannon over a DL on the raider squad. Your raider shouldn't ever be sitting still for him to use it anyway.
I'd also toss a horrorfex on each raider as well. Pinning a unit of, say, Tau so that your raiders survive long enough to deliver their payload can be much more important than a single DL shot.
Well, technically, I could rewrite this list as a Wych Cult list and I'd have plenty of troop selections.
Is it worthwhile to take a few pinning weapons in a list as small as 1000pts?
That's true. I don't have any wyches, and likely won't get any until the new codex comes out and they're hopefully available in plastic. If they still aren't at that point, I guess I'll be doing some converting.
As far as pinning goes, at 5 points were weapon, I think it's always worth it.
