Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am new to nids, but not new to 40k or new to making each unit do one job on the field, as I played eldar as my first army. I came up with a balanced 1000 point list to try and play against. Any and all comment and critizim would be amazing. Thanks!
x2 Twin Linked Devourers
x3 Rending Claws, Toxic Sacs, Leaping, Sences, Devourers, and Adrenal Glands (WS)
8 Genestealers + Extended Carapace
Zoanthrope, Synapse, Warp Blast
Carnifex, Sences, x2 TL Devourer
The general plan is the hormagaunts will go with the tyrant and the termagaunts with the warriors and stealers. Fex is shooting of course and the thrope and the tyrant are the anti tanks. The only thing I don't like is I could fit hardly any biomorphs on the Carnifex. But Mer. Comments?
HQ - This is a good Tyrant, but his job is anti-infantry, not anti-vehicle. In the skimmer-heavy environment of 40k, he's not going to do that well. Even non-skimmer, he only will hit vehicles that moved 1" or more on a 4+ at best. Plus, many heavier vehicles cannot be harmed by his devourers. He should be shooting up infantry squads every turn, and charging when you know he can finish the squad off by the end of the next enemy assault phase, so that you don't lose any turns shooting.
Warriors should have no leaping, no adrenal(ws), no rending claws, and a 2nd set of devourers to make them twin-linked and fulfill the 2nd weapon biomorph requirement. If you want to make them melee, go ST/RC. If you want them shooty (the more mathematically effective version against infantry, which is what warriors are best tailored to kill), use twinlinked devourers, toxin sacs and enhanced senses (and of course, keep them in cover to mitigate the poor armor save).
I'd advise spinegaunts over termagants, but either way you should be splitting down so you have 6 full deployments instead of 5. There is no reason not to shave a couple of those squads down into one more squad. 12/8/8/8 or something instead of 12/12/12.
I am stringently against EC on a genestealer, personally. That is discussed in a recent thread in the main Tyranid forum.
The zoanthrope is ineffective against armor unless you are lucky, due to the 50% chance to hit with a single shot that only has 18" range off a 6" moving model and requires a successful psychic test to get off in the first place. Got all kinds of risk.
Sniperfexes are superior to devouer-fexes in your current list, due to its lack of any reliable ranged anti-tank. I'd advise trimming a little to get the extra 30 or so points needed to make the devilfex a sniperfex.

I looked it over and see now what you mena with nids being a balanced army kind of thing. I revamped the list and broke it down into more troops, because I know that is needed. By downgrading to the spinegaunts, which I am not sure are better than the termagaunts other than they have more due to costing less, I was able to get a sniper fex. Here is the new list.
x4 TL Devourers
x4 Toxic sacs
8 genestealers w/ ST
Zoanthrope, Synapase, Warp Blast
Carnifex, Sences, Venom Cannon, Barbed Strangler
Hows this look? I think it is 62 models and 998 point cost. I also was looking it over and thought that dropping one warrior would save points and it actually gave me enough to add 2 more spinegaunts to each brood. Should I do that?
it would be...
for troops plus the rest. Not sure if the extra bodies is more worth it or the extra synapse and extra warrior shots. Hmm...Anyways. There ya goes. Comments?
mmm not enough big guns imo. With tyranids you can really cheese out at 1k points. Bring a dakka fex to the table and a couple of sniper fexes for good meassure. No one will play against it but its a good list.
I like gaunts, and if ur planning on charging as fast as you can, I'd give'em scuttlers. You have the tyrant to keep up with these speedy gaunts. I'd also drop the stealers, they are EXPENSIVE. You can try and hide them behind ur tyrant, but otherwise, they'd be picked off very fast. You dont want them to have an easy time deciding what to shoot at. If you give the gaunts scuttles, there may be a problem if your tyrant dies.
