Hi! I've been working on my tyranids for awhile, and now they're finnaly starting to come together! I still don't have alot of models, but I have enough for a 1000-1500pt army.
This isn't really a "list" it just includes all of the models I have, a few of them with their symbiotes selected already (could still use critique) and others I haven't figured out what would be most effective on them (thats where you guys come in). so heres what i have
-Shadow in the warp
- x2 Tyrant Guard
-no idea what to put on these guys
-dunno if he's the right choice but I have one
have plenty of genstealers and gaunts (enough to count as anyways)
I have a few ripper swarms
-dunno if he is good by himself, I could buy two more. then I would be more inclined to use them
-they could go here with wings (I still only have 3)
total (so far) =785
Any help at all would be great, thanks in advance!

You have good setups on all your units so far (and the Shadow in the warp on the walking tyrant is great if you encounter psykers! smart move! don't use psychic scream on him).
I doubt you'll need 2 tyrant guards in 1000p though, unless you play against some pretty min/maxing fellows or really don't want it dead ;D
My suggestions for the warriors:
Go with either tl devourers (2*devourers), toxin sacs, enhanced senses, extended carapace, or the same setup but with deathspitters. don't make them flying unless you want a lot of hormagaunts.
My suggestions for the lictor:
I'd say he's not that good alone, and not in such small games either (could proxy as a ravener)
Go with genestealers & spinegaunts, or JUST spinegaunts (they cost 5p/wound! great for tying things up) 6 squads of 8 spinegaunts =240p. that's 6 scoring units, 48 wounds. They'll probably ALL die most every game, but you'll probably win anyway since the rest of your army will be alive then
As I've mentioned, flying warriors ONLY if you want hormagaunts.
Raveners (with rending claws, nothing else!) are great, especially if you don't want genestealers. get more of these guys in as small squads as possible (3 squads of 1, 3 squads of 2 etc, not 1 squad of 3, 2 squads of 3 etc.)
works. you could probably drop the Extended carapace off the carnifex if you need the points.
For flying I'd take them with +BS, +S and felshbourers. Pen would probably suggest devourers. But I agree that in you won't need flying warriors if you're not taking homagaunts.
U can either have Psychic Scream or The Shadow in the Warp... U cannot, under any circumstances, pick 2 or more powers... ONLY 1
and i suggest you get some TL Deathspitters for da Warriors

Would it be possible to give us more detail about how many genestealers and gaunts you have? Here are the reasons why I need to know this:
In regards to your Zoanthropes I prefer Warp Blast and Synpase, although a Psychic Choir is something you can play with. I personally prefer having Shadow of the Warp on my Hive Tyrant, which works well with Eldar and Chaos Tzzeetch.
- For 1000 point games, you'll have 2 Hive Tyrants and 1-3 Zoanthropes. I think you'll be fine with Synapse (assuming you field the Zoanthropes with Synpase instead), and thus won't have to worry about fielding Warriors. So I'd focus on adding the Rending Claws to that Ravener and filling up your troops choices. Try to fill up all 6 troops slots with Genestealers and gaunts.
- For 1500 point games, your troops become even more important as I'd fill out those choices before considering the Warriors and the Lictor. Warriors are among the hardest to figure out how to field. I play a swarmish army with 12 leaping CC Warriors (fielded in groups of 3) and 1 Zoanthrope as my only Synapse. Although my games take longer, I'm pretty competitive. In contrast, I've seen players use Warriors with 2 TL Devourers. When teamed up with the DakkaTyrants (just like the ones you have), they can really make a stunning firebase. The Lictor is also a tough unit to field in games.
On a side note, if you're building up your army, your best bet is to get another Sniperfex to fill out your Heavy Support Choices. In 1500+ points, you're going to be facing more high armored units. So its better to have a long range tank "shaking" threat.
