okay ive been running this list for a while and i find it more amueing then pretty much whatever else i have tried
i dont have the codex in front of me so i cant say what every thing costs but here it is
1500 hundred points (I think) maybe closer to 1750
1x lord (vod)
i really dont know how many warriors exactly but you get the idea...
...there's a lot of them okay
i made this list after my ork foot sloger army, which was basacly the same thing but with killa kans instead of the monilith (and more orks then you can ever possibly imagine :party and i thought why not do the same thing but with NECRONS (there ork philosiphy for you. if it works one way itll work no matter what)
so any way this force has never lost a match. it is now 7W/1D/0L (the draw was a scary game against grey knights... so many power wepons) so i think its pretty good. and im just throwing it out there
am i crazy or does this list actually work
(hmm... what to call it? orkrons? norks?)
Well that list is 1875pts to start.
I can't say I have enough models to field something like it, but if it works it works. You seem to succeed with it so far. I don't really see any glaring problems with it. if nothing else a solid block of warriors is really difficult to wipe out.
How do you group your warriors?
Warrior heavy armies do wotk amazingly, as they are just so resiliant and hard for the enemy to take down (to PO specifically) Also they can put out a lot of firepower, so kill lots too
I prefer diversity though, so I mix in as many different units as i can get. More fun to play with i think.
Wow, congrats on fitting so many warriors in a 1500 - 1850 list! I can only imagine your opponents face when you tell him how many warriors your taking. I've always wanted to try and fit more than 20 warriors in my list but I don't want to give up my immortals.
The only suggestion I can add would be the possiblitily of a second monolith. That would cut into your warriors, but with 2 'liths you'll be able to pull some heavy duty support if you need it (like vs. grey knights) or gain the extra big blast (coincedentally, also good for grey knights). It's only 14 less warriors, and if you focus on it, that many can probably be 'saved' with the extra WBB roll afforded to them via the teleport ability. That comes on top of the added scary, unit mobility, and Gauss Flux Arc shots. Of course though, your call.
This intrigues me because I currently have a total of 84 warriors of which 50 are still on sprues. Most lists I see normal only use the compulsory troop choice of two 10-20 warrior squads. I would like to see the look on my opponents face when I place 84 warriors on the table in 6 groups of 14 or something. Not the most flexible army in terms of tactics but that would be some phalanx.
Anyway, if you dont mind, volunteer some insight into how you field this implacable horde of gause wielding ghouls.
If you look at his list, it's fairly simple. There are only so many options avaliable, especially to a mass.
First and most straightforward:
Move everything forward en masse. Simple. Hard-hitting. But it gets dull
Teleport your brains out. It's very possible. Keeps the opponent guessing, but space tends to become an issue.
Sit down and don't budge. Wait for them to come to you. This only becomes a problem when faced with an army that can effectively shoot over two feet.
Then there are all the in-betweens of the above tactics. Move some, jump some, sit some. It's really up to you what to do. The only problem he could face is a power weapon- heavy army. Like some of those scarier Blood Angels armies. An advantage of this list is it utilized a massive amount of resilient troops. I can imagine it gets boring after a time though.
I honestly don't think there is anything at all flawed about this list. All you need to do is as the point value of the game goes up add more warriors and more monoliths!
quote:The only suggestion I can add would be the possiblitily of a second monolith
(im not sure how to directly quote things so this is just a stopgap)
actually this was my thoughts for expanding the army.
my big problum with my army. there's just to much stuff for the monilith to do. things to shot, stuff to teleport, veiws to block
and a second one would just make every thing so much easyer
and the look on your opponints face when you drop two moniliths and eighty necrons at two thousand points;Y
oh and in everybody elses oppinion if i add a second lord in this army would a res orb be valuable or should i stick with another vod
You can't block views with the monoliths, they are skimmers. So unless immobilized, they'll be floating. Never deploy monoliths, especially if there's lascannons roaming about. In my experience, that means death to your large purchase. Instead, deepstrike them in the enemies midst makes for a much better panic reaction.
You cannot take another VoD. You are only allowed one. I wish we could have 2, that would be fun. What about res orbs?
The list looks solid, but boring. Except for maybe the look on your opponents face like you said.
