Im going to be facing lots of opponents at my local gaming club and its an 1000 pts thing:
Necron Lord - Veil of Darkness
7 Scarab Swarms
anything that would make this army better? if so what shpuld i take out?
looks cool just hope you don't encounter a lot of instant death weapons like powerfist of high strenght ordance. that would kill you and be carefull with the veil make sure you don't go of the board or on other oppenent.
A ResOrb would be nice, not strictly necessary though. Maybe loose 2 Immos for 1 more Destroyer?

Yeah having had a dread charge my Flying Circus (just..not a good day for me) I value keeping a resorb with it.
for the veil, it's most popular to jump around with the immortals but you can sit, wait for your opponent to charge then warp out all your models in CC leaving them stranded in the open to get shot.
Judging by the 20 Warriors, 3 Destroyers and 7 Scarab Swarms, I'm going to assume that you just have the battleforce with a few Immortals and a Lord. It's cool if that's all you have because it's a pretty good army anyway.
If you have more, try to fit some Flayed Ones in if your opponents are using Tyranids or any other CC army as they are great. Drop a few Immortals if you choose to field them.
After listening to Phoenix and considering the scatter in a Veil of Darkness, plus my Imperial Guard friend with two Lemun Russes (1 standard cannon, 1 demolisher), I've given up VoD for just Resurrection Orb. Totally your choice but if you're gonna go up against Big Gun Heavy armies, I suggest just a Resurrection Orb for your Lord. Again, totally your choice, this is just my opinion based upon my experience.
Whenever I field 1000pts, I take along:
5 Flayed Ones
7 Scarabs (D.Fields)
I take along D.Fields on Scarabs just to counter Lemun Russes as they have become my most hated unit at the moment. Also, surrounding and assaulting transports with Scarabs to block off the exit points and getting a MINIMUM of 3 glances from 28D6 is totally fun. Flayed Ones to counter my other friend's Bezerkers and Tyranids.

I would actually storngly advise to not use VOD, my reasoning is you can keep your immortals hiding behind your warriors and with 24" range they will hardly not be in range of anything past turn 2. Plus with such a expensive unit its a major risk of loosing them to the whim of the dice gods. I've learned to not trust rolls I have no controll over I.E. scatter dice , reserve rolls, typically single d6's. They tend to be unpredictable no matter how much you math-hammer"
I generally find VoD to be my greatest weapon when I play, ESPECIALLY against guard. (and I've played against a mech guard army more then any other opponent) Immortals can get pen. hits against a Russ or basilisk from behind. AND survive to live about it. (if the sheer number of glances don't kill it)
D-field scarabs are a no-go unless you know you're fighting a mechanized army. Normal Gauss does plenty to take out vehicles. also saves you a nice handful of points taking that out for better things.
And agreeing with Phoenix, mathhammer can bite me. Though I rarely have problems with scattering dangerously.
Hmm my experiences with VOD is that what I want taken out in the back is made by the opponent immposible to get to, or I will be salughtered if I do it. Last game I played I took it as a pshycological thing, and it worked kind of, I did'nt use it though but it prevented him from doing alot of things that I would'nt want him too (since he thought I was)
