    1500 Point Swarm Army

My concept for this list is to basically annoy and confuse my opponent with not only a large number of units, but with many different types of units as well. That way, I'm hoping he has trouble defending against them all. This is a very odd type of list, so I'm not sure how well it will work, so all feedback is welcome:

(I've edited in some rams, rather than red paint jobs on the trukks)

    HQ

Warboss w/PK, cybork, 'eavy armor (100)

    Big Mek w/SAG, cybork (105)

    ELITE

    5 Kommandos w/2 rokkits (70)

    5 Kommandos w/2 rokkits (70)

    10 Lootas, w/2 upgraded to meks w/big shootas (150)

    TROOP

    11 Slugga boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and trukk w/ram (146)

    12 Slugga boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and trukk w/ram (152)

    12 Slugga boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and trukk w/ram (152)

    12 Shoota boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and trukk w/ram (152)

    12 Shoota boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and trukk w/ram (152)

    FAST

    Rokkit buggy (35)

    Rokkit buggy (35)

    Rokkit buggy (35)

    HEAVY

    Big guns w/kannon (20)

    Big guns w/kannon (20)

    Big guns w/kannon (20)

The empty spot in the trukk is for the warboss. I've been having trouble keeping lootas within line of sight without moving them, so I wanted to try upgrading some to big shootas, in order to keep them effective, even if they have to move. Also, more likely than not, if the deffguns can hit, so can the big shootas.

    Any thoughts?

Nothing wrong here. Thereare a lot of HQs that work but in this list these make sense.

    ELITE
    5 Kommandos w/2 rokkits (70)
    5 Kommandos w/2 rokkits (70)
    10 Lootas, w/2 upgraded to meks w/big shootas (150)
Kommandos will be great or will miss their shots and fail miserably. Perfect for Orks, lol. I've seen this configuration and it hurt me.
I do not like the Meqs with the lootas at all. What I might do is put a screen of grots ( 50 points worth ) in front of my SaG Meq and Lootas to protect them from DSing and infiltarting squads. Just my two cents though.

    TROOP
11 Slugga boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and red trukk (146)
12 Slugga boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and red trukk (152)
12 Slugga boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and red trukk (152)
12 Shoota boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and red trukk (152)
12 Shoota boyz + Nob w/PK, bosspole, and red trukk (152)
Almost perfect for me. I jsut prefwer a ram for difficult terrain over RPG. The extra inch has never been as important a s a ram in my experience.

    FAST
    Rokkit buggy (35)
    Rokkit buggy (35)
    Rokkit buggy (35)
Again, perfect. You can use them to shield your trukk boys and if you lose a few, meh. Well worth it to save the boys.

    HEAVY
    Big guns w/kannon (20)
    Big guns w/kannon (20)
    Big guns w/kannon (20)
I'm a fan of the kannon. too bad there are no points for some extra grots for ablative wounds.

Overall the list looks quite solid.

    Hmm...

Hmm...now that you mention it, it seems that I get a trukk stuck on terrain almost every game. Up to now I didn't think they were worth it, but getting through terrain is a bigger issue than I originally thought. I'll have to give it a try and see how it goes.

The meks with big shootas are there because I've had to move the lootas way too often (or in the case of matches against chaos, I've been forced to move them). Honestly, to me lootas don't seem that much more powerful than orks with big shootas. Look at the stats:

Lootas: 1-3 shots, STR 7, AP 4, 48in range, Heavy

Big shoota: 3 shots, STR 5, AP 5, 36in range, Assault

Statistically, the big shoota is more likely to cause a wound, and you can fire it while moving. The main advantage of lootas is their ability to take down most armor, but having a few big shootas in the mix doesn't seem to decrease their effectiveness against normal troops any, at least from what I can see.

Anyway, thanks for the advice! I think I'll edit in some rams right away.
