So there's an RTT on april fifth and I wanted to build the all around list I can while still keeping it strong agaist marines and necrons (they are the majority around here with a few tyranid players)
here it is:
Farseer- Runes or wittness, spirit stones, guide, mindwar, doom 150pts
seems solid enough with a squad of DA'S
2 units of:
7 Harlequins, shadowseer, troupe leader- all have kisses and PW for leader 244pts each
They pretty much eat anything but thier speed is lacking, I figure at least they are great at holding and taking objectives and quarters if all else fails.
5 striking scorpians, exarch- Claw, stalker, shadowstrike 148pts
I can infiltrate if mission allows or throw them in the falcon otherwise. Its them or banshees. But when it comes to assault cannons and heavy bolters its seems like scorpians are that much better.
8 DA's, exarch- bladestorm twin catapult
Wave Serpent- brightlance, spirit stones 285pts
Farseer will be with this squad
9 DA's, exarch- bladstorm, twin catapult
Wave Sepent- brightlance, spirit stones 297pts
4 Warp spiders, exarch- suprise assault, 2 deathspinner 137pts
these guys seem to rip up termintors, bikes and speeders like no tommorow
4 S hawks, exarch- Hawks talon, intercept, and sky leap 14pts
4 S hawks, exarch- sunrifle, intercept, skyleap 152pts
I'm not sold just yet but they rip up monoliths, land raiders and rear armour pretty well. I like skyleaping and contesting or talking quarters and objectives in the final turn. They've been pretty clutch but it's hard to say if I would have done better with a different unit.
Falcon- star cannon, s cannon , holofeild and spirit stones 195pts

HQ: Tone him down to 2 powers. Probably drop guide or mindwar. Runes of warding might be better than wittnessing.
Harleys: Can safely ditch the troop leader upgrade for another man. You have enough kisses so don't over do it an kill your opponents in one round if you can't keep in combat.
Scorpions: Good but need to be 8-10 strong.
Dire Avengers: Need to be 10 men strong to make maximum use of the bladestorming. Remember serpents can carry 12 so you can fit the farseer in as well. Transports look good. Watch out when using psy powers as you can't cast some of them if you begin the turn in a vehicle.
Spiders: Get 6-8 strong and have the withdraw power instead. Powerblades are nice insurance and allow you to pollish off survivours from your shooting if you don't want to warp away.
Hawks: Your suspicions were right. They suck except against monoliths. Ditch them for the upgrades above then considder
- More spiders
- Shining spears
- Vipers with 2x shuriken cannon
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
pretty much as madcat said
The hawks - I have seen them take out liths, but it is a trick that tends to work once at best, a good oponent will stop it (basically put the portal facing the hawks, and teleport a warrior squad through to act as a blocking unit)
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Sorry if the list was typed wierd but the DA's are 10 man and 9 man strong. I didnt realize the wave serpent can carry 12 men so I've changed that to 10 each. I'm not a big fan of eldar bikes so I'll probably go with another squad of warp spiders instead of 1 of the hawk squads. I'll try 1 unit of hawks though. At the very least they can take out a full unit of gaunts, orks or gaurdsmen by themselves and just suicide into tanks otherwise. they tend to get ignored by other infantry so they're usually around in the later turns to grab quarters and what not. I know my logic is flawed, but I wanna feel some justification for buying them Thanks again
Spiders are a much more ubiquitous unit than hawks, it is difficult to get results with hawk, I love the minis and used them quite regularly with my old Siam Hann army, but not because they were effective, but becaus ethey looked good. That is all well and good, and dont have a problem with people doing that, but do be carefull, most RTTs are not full of people playing fluffy armies who dont care about results so if you are up for fun and not that bothered about tourney placement then fine (and much kudos to you for it)
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Yea actually I'm not really a fluff player at all. I'm just kinda broke and tryin to feed 2 other armies. I'm not a big fan of relying on vehicles (except in orks) so I try to use alot of fast infantry to counteract it a bit. My old list used not one vehicle but it didn't have enough mobility and Swooping hawks were a must for claiming quarters. I guess they're not needed that much anymore though. Thanks for the help
