This is my first try at a Dark Eldar list
HQ - 301
Dracon (WWP, Combat Drugs, Punisher, Tormenter Helm)
2xWarriors (2x Splinter Cannons)
Troops - 318
Sybarite (Agoniser, WWP)
Heavy Support - 115
Elites - 266
With this army I'm hoping to get my Dracon up quickly and open the portal to get the wyches out without casualties, then i can run along one side with the wyches taking out any assualt based troops and the Dracon killing the other troops. I know the Dracon is pretty expensive, but i feel he needs to be protected. So any advice would be appriciated.
Welcome to the forums. Now: Onto the list:
HQ: The dracon should be in the portal as well, not carrying it. Drop the portal from this squad. Incubi are also really expensive in a 1000pt list, but it's your choice.
Elites: Are you sure you don't want raiders on these squads? It would really help with less than ideal portal placement, which is possible with the footslogging portal you have. I'd give them raiders.
Troops: They're fine.
Heavy Support: You currently have exactly two skimmers in this list. Both die fast if exposed. They will eat every anti-tank weapon on the board as well. Trust me, it's not pretty. I'd either swap for raiders or for a talos.
Hope you don't mind the shredding of your list.
I could probably scrap the WWP for this list, and drop a wych then put both the wych sqauds in raiders, the reason why i didnt do this in the first place is that raiders would die easily and my wyches would be out in the open. My main opponent would be tau so even thier normal guns would be pretty nasty against the raiders, unless i got 1st turn.
Anyways, thanks for the advice
If it's Tau, you actually need raiders even more. They set up off in a corner somewhere, where you'll need speed to get there and charge before they can open fire. If you can't get the majority of your units into CC fast, then the fight will not go well.
I see what you mean, and raiders would be really handy, if i get first turn though. If I dont then he will be able to pick off my raiders with railguns and missile pods then my wyches will be at about half strength and out in the open, which is not good. I suppose it would be the same either way and I could hide some raiders behind size 3 cover (I'm fairly sure i can do that >_>) but im sure he'll find some way to blow them up.
