Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok this list is my love letter to the lowly scarab. Every game I play with them they are the MVP. Either the enemy ignores them, to their own peril, or they shoot at them for 3 turns forgetting all the gauss goodness that is behind them. So I designed this list around them, its pretty unconventional I believe and I wanted some input on it.
Scarab Swarm list
Lord w/ lighting field, destroyer body, phase shifter and war scythe………195
Lord w/ veil of darkness……………….160
10 scarabs …………….120
10 scarabs w/ disruption fields …………160
13 warriors …………234
The tactics is see are as follows, the des. lord is going to run with the scarabs without dis fields into the nastiest close combat unit the other side has. The scarabs w/ dis fields are going tank hunting. The circus lord and immortals are going to be bouncing around the table wherever needed. Warriors are going to fill up the middle capturing or contesting objectives. The wraiths are there as a counter charge unit or n objective grabber. Any opinions or ideas are greatly appreciated

Im not a Dfield fan, but in a list based around Scarabs, why not give both units them? Only really useful when facing a static tank enemy (i.e non skimmers) which is a rare opponant for me. Gauss guns do the job just as well.
Id say drop 6 Warriors and get yourself some Flayed Ones. Another combat unit, and Infiltration can be very useful.
The only reason for no d-field on the 2nd squad is because if they do their job right they will never get the chance to use them. Their job is to really grind down assault units that can cause huge damage to my relatively small necron count. I figure between a d lord and lighting field they should be up to the job. The ideas for flayed ones though could be very interesting, how would you suggest using them in the context of this list?
Edit: I gave the lord a Phase Shifter for a little extra staying around power

As normal, infiltrate them and try and target units in close combat which they can at least match, and use them to kill or hold up enemy units, whatever you need at the time.
Nice list! Just wactch out for template / high strength heavy armies. I personally don't ussualy see my scarabs out perform themselves (Probably means they're doing they're job) but you could even go for 30 of the guys ;Y
The original list had 30 Scarabs, then i realized that by getting 30 of the little buggers i would only have 3 scoring units on the board which would get me alot of ties (because rolling through 90 wounds is hard for any army) but few wins. Hence the Wraiths as my 3rd fast attack choice
I would also say drop your lord down too just a res orb foot lord, and get a 'Lith. Two lords at 1500 I a bit too much and both have expensive gear on them.
