Hi chaps, just recently picked up the Cron dex and have quickly thrown this list together for your perusal. It's based around the contents of 2 battle force boxes, and would only cost around £180ish to throw together, so it represents decent value for money - but is it any good?
Warscythe, Destroyer Body, Nightmare Shroud
Veil of Darkness, Resurrection Orb
3 Tomb Spyders
3 Heavy Destroyers
Basic idea being a scythe toting destroyer lord makes for a good tank hunter, whilst a lord surrounded by 50 crons with a res orb should be able to bring a lot back from the dead.
The tomb spyders are in there because I like the models, heavy destroyers are thrown in because I had 195 points left after totting up my points.
I'd really like some wraiths, but I don't know what to drop.
I'm brand new to crons, and haven't really read the dex properly, but this list is garnered from my basic understanding of it.
No monoliths, simply because I don't want one.
I can't say I've seen it all but I live for the things that keep me hollow.
3 Spyders is one too many i think. Alo, the DLord doesnt seem to have much of a role. If you wnat yo use the VoD, use it with Immortals. the short range of Warrior guns makes it too risky.
Loose the Dlord, one Spyder and one Heavy Des, as well as 10 Warriors.
Get a Monolith, 7-10 Immortals, and split the 2 remaining HeDes into 2 units
Fer starters you should study how necron units interact a bit more. Take a good read-through of the codex and look at some army builds around here and read what folks say.
Look at what each aspect of your army is doing for you...how is VoD going to work into your battleplan? or the Nightmare shroud on your destroyer lord?
You don't need a tankhunter, you have gauss.
50 warriors...not really necessary but you can if you'd like to. I'd suggest dropping a squad of them, buying some wraiths, then re-equpping your destroyer lord with a phase shifter and res orb.
Necrons have some really awesome cappabilities but they don't work stand-alone. A single leader unit won't go so far as one might hope. The list would be playable, but it isn't as efficient as it could be.
