Well, after all my fun AP testing and that garbage is done with, I've got a re-match with my friend. Since last match was a complete blowout, I'm considering a different list.
Haemonculus: Destructor & Scissorhands: 45pts
Haemonculus: Destructor & Scissorhands, Reaver, Haywire Grenades: 84pts
Sniper Squad: 100pts
Raider Squad: 7x Warriors, Blaster, Splinter Cannon, Sybarite w/Punisher, Tormentor Helm, Plasma & Haywire Grenades: 171 pts
The Talos will deploy front and center along with the sniper squad, but the snipers will be in cover. The talos will hopefully draw lots of fire while the snipers shoot the crap out of his chimeras. When his troops are suitably disembarked, I will commit to an assault, until then, things stay in cover, except the Talos.
My friend plays and IG list with one armored fist squad, one grenadiers squad in a chimera, and one HQ squad in a chimera. His anti-tank consists of four meltaguns, all of which are embarked, which is why I'm hoping the Talos does some decent damage.
I like it - mostly because you are playing against IG and coven units do very well against them.
Is this exactly 500 points? Would love to see another haywire grenade for the other Haemy but its not really necessary. I think you got a sound plan, the only difference would be going with an agoniser for the sybarite since its the only power weapon you have and its a little cheaper as well but the punisher against this particular opponent is a good choice.
Very nice, let us know how you did!
Wow, ur friend uses mechanised guard, why not play fully mechanised DE? Just take 3/4 raiders squads with splinter cannon and blaster, ur friend shouldnt stand a chance!
But back to your list, leavy out the punisher and tormentor helm and give both heamonculus a skyboard (alot cheaper then a reaver). And with the spare points... maybe u could get an other heamonculus...
A tear is only water, and a sigh is only air.
You also can't have 500 points, and we may not be playing combat patrol anyway. The reason I am not taking many raiders is because A. I can only fit two decent ones anyway; B. He relies on multi-lasers and heavy bolters. C. I want something with a little more durability behind it, hence the talos.
Change of plans. My local GW won't have my order in on time for me to do anything with it before the next battle Sunday. I've revised and streamlined the last list.
Haemonculi: Scissorhands/Destructor, Haywire Grenades: 49pts
Warrior Squad: 10x Warriors, 2x Dark Lances: 100pts
Raider Squad: 7x Warriors, blaster, splinter cannon, sybarite with punisher, tormentor helm, plasma and haywire grenades, raider: 171pts. Haemonculus goes in this squad.
Raider Squad: 8x Warriors, blaster, splinter cannon, sybarite with punisher, tormentor helm, plasma and haywire grenades, raider: 179pts.
