1750 pts 5th edition footslogging army

Its been quite a time since I made a list or even play a game of warhammer. But now that 5th edition is around the corner and with the new ork codex, I think its the perfect time to play again. So here's what I thought :

    HQ:

    Bigboss - 155 pts
    -Bike
    -PK
    -Bosspole
    -Attack squig

    Bigmek - 85 pts
    -KFF

    Troops :

    30 Sluggas boys - 250 pts
    -Nob with PK and bosspole
    -3 Rokkit launchas

    30 Sluggas boys - 250 pts
    -Nob with PK and bosspole
    -3 Rokkit launchas

    20 Shoota boys - 170 pts
    -2 Bigshoota
    -Nob with PK and bosspole

    20 Shoota boys - 170 pts
    -2 Bigshoota
    -Nob with PK and bosspole

    12 Sluggas boys - 157 pts
    -Nob with PK and bosspole
-Truck with red paint and reinforced ram

    30 Gretchin - 120 pts
    -3 runtherd

    Fast attack :

    1 buggies - 35 pts
    -TL rokkit launchas

    2 buggies - 70 pts
    -TL rokkit launchas

    3 Warbikes - 110 pts
    -Nob with PK

    Heavy support :

    Deff dread - 105 pts
    -2 CCW

    Killa kan - 40 pts
    -Big shoota

    Killa kan - 40 pts
    -Big shoota

    1747 pts

With the new cover rules, I feel that a combination of a cheap grot squad and the KFF will bring my boys in combat with minimal damage. The grot can also be used to capture objectives.

The boss will run with the 3 bikes and will probably go tank hunting along with the buggies.

The dread, kans and the lone truck unit is used mainly for distraction for the main force and can act as shield against the higher treat.

Is this list balanced and/or any good? Am I'm forgetting or lacking something?

    Thanks for future help.

From the cursory glance i gave it, your list looks fairly solid. You have a good footslogging base that will be defended by the KFF while some of the faster elements act as distractions. My only suggestion might be to up the number of warbikes, if only to increase their survivability. Other than that slight qualm, the list looks good. Best of luck with it.

    One thing

The list looks good, and I second Morkai's advice to up the squad of bikes, preferrably to 6 bikes total. They also need a bosspole, or they're going to be run off the table really quickly.

For the points, I'd drop the KFF. Instead, string the grotts across the front of your army, as if they were a wall. With 5th edition rules, that'll give the units behind them a 4+ save. Yes, they can be blown away, and that's why I'd also string a unit of orks behind them, as sort of a backup wall when the grotts go down. Even without the orks behind them, this'll be more effective than a KFF.

Other than that, the list looks good. Good luck!
