I was thinking about a new Eldar army but i want it to be a city fight type army. This is to take advantage of the new 5th ed rules. Autarchs will most likely be changed to make advantage of as much heavy weaponry as possible.
Avenger Shurikan Catapult.
Total Pts: 1494
Please any advise or constructive critisism.
Thats an interesting take on an eldar army. No armor to speak of. Very little in the way of speed. No farseers only autarchs... different.
Not to say bad though, although if I may point out one glaring weakness here. With 20 pathfinders and 10 reapers, you are hoping that the enemy nicely marches towards you on foot down a battlefield with no cover where you have firing lanes to blow it all away before it gets close. Quite the ideal situation for just about any shooting army, but youll see with tau just as with this list, all fire warriors does not get the job done. You have no viable anti-tank. Landraiders, basilisks, hammerheads, dreadnoughts, predators, even most transports...they are going to have no problems outdoing you at ranged warefare and/or reaching your lines unscathed. Mob armies, especially with cover available will attack you en masse, be slightly delayed by your few CC options, than continue on to wreck the rest.
I'm trying to keep my advice minimal here to keep your army mostly intact. With that in mind, use the remaining points to give your reaper exarchs missile launchers. Even with those 2, you still dont have a dependable amount of anti-tank, and transport armies will have no problem getting in the face of your shooters. Therefore I might drop 4 reapers (2 from each squad) in favor of a wraithlord. Not only will he be an anti-tank, but these make opponents think twice before getting into CC with you. This rearrangement of the reapers also increases their own efficiency as an anti-tank option as full sized squads would be wasting many reaper shots on armor. I would make these few fixes, give the list a shot and see how it goes. With 20 pathfinders you NEED to drop an autarch, probably the expensive reaper launcher one. Why? Because you NEED a farseer with doom. It makes ranger shots much more threatening to all types of squads. Give these changes a try, hope they help.

-Alaitoc Ranger Force (1850pts)
Thanks for the advice. i have been thinking about getting a Wraithlord although it doesnt really fit in with my "Followers of Hoec" theme. Thanks!

Personally I'm a big fan of the style of the list. However, I really, really think that Tau, Guard, and Deep Strike/Drop Pod/WWP armies are going to destroy you with that low amount of guns (though great guns). The Droppers are going to tear your troops apart in CC before the rest of your army can react. Try to add some mobility by dropping some pathfinders would be my advice buddy.
