I want an aggressive cc list, the plan is to get up close quickly with wraiths targeting shooty units that have low ap weapons. I have hvy destroyers to weaken their advance, my tomb spyders will eventually fight their advance, plus they will help with wbb rolls especially the hvy destroyers.
The phariahs will be behind the necron warriors as bait, hopefully they will shoot at them any shots away from the tomb spyders and hvy destroyers are good. Their toughness of 5 will keep the number of wounds down but if they suffer a good number of hits from low ap weapons I will gladly hit the ground with a 3+ save. Besides this unit can afford to wait a turn, they want to play with their warscythes in cc anyway.
N.Lord Destroyer Body, R.Orb, warscythe, chronometron, Gaze of flame
Any input will be helpful
Drop 3 or 4 Heavy D's for a Lith. Also, id say lose the Pariahs, and get in 2 units of 5 Flayeds for Infiltration. Drop 10 Warriors to get some Immortals, and drop 3 Wraiths for a large Scarab unit.
Good recomandations I think I will have to write a tactica for pariahs they get no love at all.
List as a whole looks decent, however there's a couple things you could change to make it more effective.
Chronometron is an odd choice on the destroyer lord, maybe not a bad decision seeing as sweeping advance is so devastating and you drop their leadership with the gaze of flame. Have to play to see though.
I'm really happy to see someone going out on a limb to build an interesting force and using the two most nay-sayed units of our army. Keep in mind that certain units won't work well against all opponents though.
There's already a Pariah tactica in the index actually, its what inspired my tombspyder tactica.
Maybe run Pariahs in casual games, get a feel for them and become the resident expert, we don't really have any here. I sorta agree with Pheonix that they are an odd fit to this list though. Monolith would help you get up in your enemies face faster.
I could replace the pariahs and one hvy destroyer for a monilith (seems like a good deal), however sadly right now I am a bronze lord(1000pts) when I get to silver (1500pts) I will reward myself by buying the 2 monolith thing, when I get to gold(2000) I will get a c'tan(deciever ofcourse), when I finally become a platinum lord (3000) I will get a pylon. Or atleast thats the plan.
I will write the tactica tonight because I have used pariahs in fourth edition and I think in 5th they are even better. The old tactica is nice but its missing some key things.
Back to the list has anyone played with flayed ones they have two attacks and infiltration, will someone please convince me why someone would use them?
Why to take out snipers of course. And light infantry, and heavy weapon teams and well...basically think of anything you would want to charge with bare-bones marine veterens with infiltrate, that's what flayed ones are there for.
Also they're an alternatve to necron warriors at the same points cost but with far better combat abilities. A squad of 5 can dish out plenty of damage on the charge as long as you prioritize your target. And against low leadership enemies like tau and guard you can sneak in from the back and cause all kinda of headache for some of their squads.
I always use atleast one unit of Flayeds when possible (haven't played under 5th yet though). I just find them tactically useful and viable, with infiltrate allowing me to hold, an maybe even kill an enemy unit or two that i really dont want getting where i dont want them... if that makes any sense at all lol.
And under 5th, afaik Infiltration only got better, and now they can run too!
