Hi everyone it's been a while but I have a new list I would like to get your opinion on.
Here are the details concerning the list below. I will be facing alot of marine armies, but this list is strictly friendly and not meant for a competition. I am particularly interested in whether or not you think I am utilizing the DA's well or not. Please I am here to make changes.
Farseer: Doom, Guide, Singing Spear 103pts.
9 Fire Dragons: Exarch w/ Firepike and Tank Hunters 195pts.
15 Guardians: Scatter Laser, Warlock Attachment w/ Conceal 175pts.
6 Storm Guardians: 2 Flamers, Warlock Attachment w/ Embolden 90pts.
10 Dire avengers w/ Exarch: power wep. and shimmer shield, and defend 162pts.
Wave Serpent: Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones, Twin Linked Star Cannons 125pts.
6 Warp Spiders: Exarch w/ Additional Death Spinner, Power Blades, Surprise Assault and Withdraw 206pts.
3 Shining Spears 105pts.
Wraithlord: Star Cannon, and EML 140pts. (2 flamers)
5 Dark Reapers: 175pts.
Thanks ahead for any input.
A few things you might think about....
Your Farseer could use some runes to allow him to use both powers in a turn. Nothing says dead like guided DAs shooting at doomed targets.
You might consider dropping some things and getting the Fire Dragons a transport. Leaving them to footslog is a dangerous plan. As an IG player, that'd be one of the first squads getting a pie plate, since really you've only got your wraithlord and shining spears for any other anti-tank work.
Guardians really shine when you bring a lot of them, especially the Storm Guardian type. If possible you might try and fill these out a little more.
I'm assuming you'll be using your big unit of Guardians to sit and shoot on objectives, and your DAs will work as mobile support. If that's the case, then the loadout on your DA exarch is good, though Bladestorm is always handy for a last minute shuriken barrage before the charge. Make sure your farseer is around to help your Guardians shoot if your DAs are closing in to help thin the numbers.
I hate to say it (because I like the models and the usefulness) but you might consider dropping the warp spiders entirely to fill out your troops. Granted as you said, you're not looking to get a tourney list here, but it's something to think about at least.
In any case, that's my two bits. Hope that's helpful.
I think you need to spend more time on your floor.
2500 Black Templars
thanks for the advice I'm unfourtunatly on a budgit and I cant purchase many more troops atm, but I will make as many of the additions as I can including dropping the warp spiders. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.
i don't think u can have only 6 storm gaurdians. not to mention 6 guys with T3 and armor 5+... One can spit at that unit and force it to take morale tests. or just wipe it from the board. remember u may get missions for unit points. and that's an easy point for an enemy. TBH if i were you id lose the storm guardians and get more warp spiders. a bigger warp spider unit could do more dmg with a lot more str 6 shots coming in. even against marines if u have enough wounds (and u will with 3 to hit and 2 to wound) he'll fail some armor saves. then charge in with the warpies. at the end of his turn withdraw them. on your turn shoot again, charge again and by now the banshees will be in assault range too
... that's just how i see it playing out. Or use the negated storm gaurdians to beef up the farseer and main guardian squad. Either way, NO on 6 sorm gaurdians.
