Your first list is illegal you don't have the mandatory Commander Shas'el or Shas'o.

He's risky, you might be better off running the fire warriors as troops, and then sticking the ethereal with them. That way you can get more fire warriors in.

    Shas’o - 132
    Base -
    Shield generator -
    Missile pod -
    Plasma rifle -
    Multi tracker -
Something on him has to be hard wired. Additionally I would hard wire the multi tracker and shield generator, drop him down to a Shas'el and give him a targeting array.

    Hammer head - 185
    rail gun -
    Smart missiles -
    Multi tracker -
    Target lock -
    Disruption pods-
    Decoy launchers
Decoy launchers are now useless as there is no glancing hits table anymore.

    Broad sides - 165
    2 suits -
    Shas’vre -
    Bonding knife -
    Multi trackers -

You only need team leaders, I would suggest picking up plasma rifles on the team leaders, and giving them hard wired multi-trackers so that you give both of your teams A'S'S movement is more important then being able to shoot both your weapons.

I would also consider adding in a devil or two for your fire warriors as transports.

The Eth/honour guard combo has worked really nice for me, it becomes an expensive squad but it is best to make it 12 strong and sit it behind another line of firewarriors for the cover saves if your opponent wisens up and realises what they will do. Which is run forward when the enemy get in close, move 6" have a marlerlight setup on the unit preparing to charge next turn, and then rapid fire your honour guard against them, BS 5 x 12 FWs rapid firing will mean approximately 20 hits and even in power armour a tactical squad will drop a significant number of models... given the fact they shouldnt be reaching your lines at full strength anyway... it is risky but if your prepared to run it, these guys are a nasty trick to pull out of the hat.

Drop the 'O to 'El and bump the shield gen to HW as said previously, stick in a TA and your already 15 pts ahead.

Dis-Pods are simply a waste of points, as is bonding on the broadsides.

It may be personal prefference but 2 Railheads and 3 Broadsides is arguably a better combination. You have 5 straight shots to take out any vehicles first turn, and then have the added bonus of an extra pieplate to throw around. It is a more vulnerable combo, but at the end of the first turn your opponents vehicls shouldnt be in any fantastic shape to worry about the hammerheads. That said you would equip each broadside with a target lock so they can seperate the fire, but if you want something dead 3 at one target should pretty much do it. The downside of versatility is 2 Railhead - 180 pts each - and 3x Broadsides with TLs totals at 600 points, compared to the 515 you spent currently. It is personal preference but with 2 teams of 2 broadsides you are virtually guaranteed to take out 2 vehicles a turn, Railheads are good, but need a markerlight hit to be super-reliable for tankbusting. If you do use these cost cuts suggested by myself and the others who posted, you will probably be able ot make up the 85 needed for this heavy support set-up.

Your troop core is a solid lineup, just make sure to infiltrate the kroot (mission permitting) into cover if you can and tough it out until your opponent steps into charge range, proving to be a major thorn in their side, 40 kroot will attract enough attention to probably allow you an extra turn of shooting beforer the neighbours charge over and arrive on your step to mince up the firing line.

    Best of luck!

    so!

i need to drop my 'o to an 'el (you can hw a shield generator?)

    pump my guard to 12.

    keep my troops the same

and beef my heavies to 2 railheads and 2 broadsides.

decoys are useless now i guess. but why disruption pods? wouldnt everything outside of 12 give me a 4+ cover save?
