Ok, so some have you glanced on my thread, and i apologize for taking so long to come up with a list but midterms and research papers really just suck the time out of the day. What i'm trying to make is a army that would seem to live on a planet representing of Arrakis in the book Dune. But anyways, I'm planning to compete in a tourney over Christmas break with my friends out our local hobby store, and was seeing how this list would work for both friendly and competitive games. There is a chance the tourney will be 2v2. Anyways without further waiting, my themy army.
Ok Army Changed, things in parenthesis were removed. Asterisks were units that were added.
-Warp Jump Generator
-Fluff being worked on, i'm thinking of making a female conversion of him, which i'll explain another time
Dire Avenger x10
Fast Attack: 218
Warp Spider x8
Ok, so that's 189 points left. No idea what to spend it on, I was maybe thinking a falcon with star cannon and holo fields and spirit stones for termie hunting and transporting the pathfinders if they need it. Or more troops, or putting in a stand in Yriel to go with the harlequins.
General tactics are use prisms for hordes or anti-tank. Spiders do their annoying thing. Harlie's hunt annoyingly hard targets and banshees stay behind the avengers as they advance. Pathfinders sit on objectives and just do what they do best, sitting.
All Comments, criticisms, thoughts or anything else that might need to be said is welcome.

Personally I realy like this idea for a theme, and adding in yriel to represent the young atrides would seem to fit, It would make the harlequin squad lethal. However he may end up slowing them down as he has no flip belt and therefore cannot ignore difficult terrain. i am also not sure the banshees would ever make it into CC without a transport even being behind the DA's. Those caveats not withstanding I think this is a brilliant theme for and Eldar army. Good luck.
Hrm, I now see what you mean about the banshees, but what should I replace them with? More harlequins? All I think i would like is to have another CC squad of some sort for a semi-balance to the army.
Also I think i'm going to put the makeshift yriel in, because it would be fun to see my opponent be slightly scared by a squad they can't shoot at for a little bit.
Thanks for the comment so far!
Maybe it should me more stealth-and-run army? You know... Pathfinders + Spider + all-transported, or maybe something like scorps/harlequins/War Walkers.
The only problem that I have with grav tanks, is that I don't think that the Fremen would have them. The reason that I include them in the list is because i'm in need of some kind of anti-tank. I'm also questionable about the idea of walkers because 1. they're pretty big and can't escape a worm and 2. the large amount of vibrations they would create by walking, if they could walk on the desert, would bring about their own demise by worms.
With that in mind, do you think my list would still be viable as a competative army if I did not use tanks, walkers, wraithlords, vipers, etc?
On another note, I do like the idea of scorpions so i'll try to make a total footslogging army idea tonight and post it tomorrow. And eventually I'll start writing fluff and stuff for my army, just to try to make it official.
Perhaps you could make these eldar exodites? These eldar are normally only on lush planets but perhaps Dune hold special significance because of the spice? Somehow somewhat more primitive eldar strike me more as Fremen.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
Ok, editing was done the first army. I'm going to lunch so I'm going to post this army quickly. It has no grav tanks, vypers, walkers, or whatever.
-Warp Jump Generator
Dire Avenger x10
Fast Attack: 566
Warp Spider x8
Ok, so I'll elaborate more when I get back from lunch, cause I'm freaking starving, but I basically think this army would be more fluffy, but less effective competitively, as I only have the autarch and hawks for anti-tank. Ok, more when I get back.
Ok, the continuation of what happened. As I said I think the second list is more fluffy as every unit, besides the avengers has some way to leave combat or infiltrates, keeping with the idea of scouts and hit and run units at the cost of being more flimsy. The first list as seen is a little less filmsy, imo, but with grav tanks fluff i think is compromised a bit.
I wasn't really thinking this army as exodites, because I believe that they are just as advanced as other races, even on a makeshift arrakis, and it would I think be special because of the spice. I would argue that they are adapting, rather than less primitive as they realize what would work and what wouldn't on such an unforgiving planet. They have the technology, it just doesn't help them, I believe.
Well anyways, up for C&C and whatever else you'd like to say.

LOL I did a dune themed eldar army way back in 2000 for the first Brisbane GT, picked up 2nd too.
Ok, so I can't add for my last army list, but when I played with it, the hawks actually did surprisingly well, as I played against Tau I realized my mistake and just took out the scorpions and put in an extra spider. The +2 to reserves roll was almost unfair, as I deepstriked the hawks and they came in on turn two and took out a fire warrior squad with their pie plates. they fleeted into cover and next round took out both of his tanks, which made me happy. Pathfinders did their job as I infultrated them and then charged the tau gunline on turn 1. Pathfinders are better than tau in combat i've found out and do surprisingly well at holding up tau. Spiders were obnoxious, but I think i used them wrong, but they didn't really do too much damage, but did take out the kroot squad my friend had. I ended up not rubber banding the hawks and they made their points back, pinning a few units. I was really happy all around with the outcome of the list against tau. Dire Avengers did their job I guess causing wounds here and there, but definatly here, hawks were the godsend.
Then I played with my first army except instead of 7 harlies, I had 8 scoprions with a claw and infultrate. I played against necons here and did ok, but lost. I took out his monolith in turn 3 with a prism shot, but not before he took out my scoprions with his nightbringer. Harlies, took out one of his 12 man warrrior squads, but then were slaughtered by the nightbringer. His destroyers gaussed my fire prisms turn 4 and then his nightbringer proceeded to sweep my troops as I had noone who could take him out really. Pathfinders for some reason this game couldn't hit or keep them necrons dead. Though they did cause 3 wounds on the nightbringer. So I can't really decide which army I like better. Dire Avengers caused a few wounds, but not enough to my liking. He wiped out my whole army, and I took out 2/3 warrior squads, 3 destroyers, 1 monolith. He was left with his nightbringer, lord, 12 man squad.
So that's my experience so far with the two lists I made. It'll probalby end up being a mix between the two as hawks have proved their worth and so have prisms. I won't be able to play any more games until Thanksgiving so I won't have any updates till then. Maybe I'll have some time to paint my army and complete the outlining of my fluff.
