So, my Dune theme is going well to anyone who was interested, but my army needs an overhall I think. I played in a tourney at my local game store over thanksgiving and placed 4/6. Most of the time we played annihilation missions (4 were/1 win against necrons, lost against 2 eldar and choas) and 1 had mission objectives(against nids I won). It was a round robin type of deal, everyone plays everyone thingy. I changed a lot of things based on watching the other 2 eldar guys play and just the basic needs of my army to be competative.
I think this still keeps the main idea of a strike force/stalking force found out in the desert.
Fire dragonsx6/exarch/crack shot/ DBF
That comes out to 1345 leaving 155 points to spare.
This is a change from my list i think i posed a while back.
The reason for the pathfinders is because against all armies int eh tourney, 2 eldar, 1 nids, 1 necrons and 1 chaos SM (had a mixed list with all types of units), they did their jobs. Sat on the objective in the 1 game and just harrassed the crap out of people, taking out MC's, jetbikes, nightbringer, immortals ya. The idea for the falcons was termi hunting along with transporting fire dragons and seer council for either horde control CC or whatever, and the seer council the drop that was used against me worked very well. My harlequins did ok, but I think I like scorpoins more as harlequins are a bit touchy though they did their job, but only killed 2 units at most.
I changed from fire prisms because they weren't really needed. Sure the blasts were nice, but I needed something to move my pathfinders around in the objective game as my dire avengers got shot up but the pathfinders stayed, and trecking across the field isn't a good idea with them. Fire dragons because of more termi/MC hunting and taking out tanks at times.
If any clarification is needed, then please ask, and i'll try to respond as fast as possible.
Like always, any suggestions/comments/criticisms/random things found in the world are all welcome!
ok, take one of the falcons out and chuck a wave serpent on the fire dragons, event if u jump em out first turn.
on the scorpions i really dont like the claw, bb is much better for me, but its up to you if you like it, also dont like stalker, but again, your points.
do you really need 5 warlocks with the farseer? i think tis better to take 3, but if you liek 5, take em. Also take the second falcon out for a wave serpent for this squad, again, even if u jump em out first turn, wave serpents are just better.
pathfinders are the shiz, keep em =D
all in all fairly solid, should win ya some games
Farseer_Matt I have a question.
Why wave serpents more than falcons? I've used neither so I'm just wondering why they're better in your opinion?
The five warlocks are there just to fill up the falcon as well so if that offers any explaination that's why there are that many.
Thanks for the response.
Edit: And I just realized, stupidly, that there are posts about this in the main section...gonna read them now...

Ok, so here it is with wave serpents and the other points used. I think this is failing in Anti-tank though. Horde is hoping to be taken care of by flamers and scorpions. Eh, anyways, here it is.
That's 1493. And now, off to class.
wave serpents over falcons:
twin linked gun (at bs3 its important)
double storage capacity =)
fair nuff on the warlocks, but with serpents you have the points to buy new stuff ;D
