Welcome to Librarium Online!
Alright playing against some tau tomorrow, though up a list that might be fun to use.
HQ: Lord w/ res orb
TRP: 2x10 Warriors
ELT: 2x5 Flayed ones
FA: x3 Destroyers
FA: x4 Scarabs
FA: X3 Wraiths
This is for a friendly game vs. tau tomorrow, I figured it would be a good time to experiment with a CC list. If only I had room for Tomb Spyders...
EDIT: Ok I gave in, nd made a list with Spyders in it.
HQ: Destroyer Lord w/ orb
TRP: Warriors: 2x10
ELT: Flayed Ones 2x5
FA: Wraiths x3
FA: Scarab x 4
HS: Tomb Spyders x2
Total: 991 PO: 8
Close Combat list eh?
Lose the spiders, your fist list is far more reliable and lets face it, spiders are rubbish at any form of combat, ranged or close. This makes them a support unit, and that many points is alot to pay for a support unit of that quality, stick to your first list.
As for the wraiths, agains tau, ok, its feasible I suppose, but against anything else they will be outnumbred by far to much. Buy more flayed ones with these points.
Next: this is the first and only time is will ever merit pariahs and scarabs. Whenever I paly with these units things have gone realy badly, but if those tau have pulse carbines, you need fearless units. If you are feeling realy dicey, take pariahs instead of flayed ones, but once again, this will be one of those units that will only be good against low strength pinning units, aka: tau.
Destroyers are a good choice, but buy these with spare points only, this is a CC army after all.
Hope I've helped!
I'm one of the biggest Tomb Spyder supporters on LO. If you don't like them, that's fine but they're one of my most trusted units.
As for the wraiths, this list was only meant for Tau, so had I gotten them into combat, they would do fun and hilarious things to my opposition. Unfortunately I ended up using my Nids for that game and don't think either of these lists will see use. Ah well.
I have a nervous twitch for making lists balanced, even if it IS supposed to be a "CC only" I understand the value of heavy firepower to soften up my opponents.
