I'm playing in a War Without End league started tournament this weekend and I need 900 points worth of painted units. Most of my stuff is painted, but there is still some that I need to finish. Right now the stuff I'm looking at is the following:
6 Guardian Jetbikes with 2 Shuriken Cannons
Farseer with Spirit Stones, Doom and Guide
3 War Walkers with 2 pairs of Scatter Lasers and a pair of EMLs
Vyper with Shuriken Cannon and Scatter Laser
5 Harlequins, 4 with Kisses and one Shadowseer
All told, that comes to 908 points. I really wish I hadn't chosen to go with the Shuriken Cannon on the Vyper, but it would be a pain to change it now. I also have 10 Dire Avenger in semi-painted state that I could swap in for something else.
Hmm My only real thought is that the model count seems rather low. Perhaps drop the guide and spirit stones from the farseer and use the points for a few more pathfinders or a few harlies. Dropping the vyper for some more bodies would also be something to think about.
Agreed, troops should take up 1/3 to 1/2 of your points in my opinion, that can be one squad of DA and a ranger sqaud or some guradian squads (i see you dont have them). Drop the vyper and make the farseer a doomseer. Guide is unnecessary with your firepower. Keep the warwalkers as they take up the vypers role. Are you worried that the harlies will get shot to shreds?
Thanks for the help.
"Are you worried that the harlies will get shot to shreds?"
Somewhat, but I really just plan on using them as a counter-charge/defense for one of the ranger squads.
