Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have a game coming up and I don't normally play necrons. My list looks like this for now, let me know if I need to make some changes.
Lord with res orb-140
8 Flayed Ones--144
3*10 Warriors--180
5 scarabs--60
2*1 Heavy destroyer--65
That leaves me 27 points to play with. I am thinking about dropping the resorb for a veil, but I am not sure. (would hate to lose the Resorb and then get hit by a defiler.
My teamate will bringing something like this
Destroyer Lord with Scyth
9 wraiths to escort lord
2 heavy destoryers
Any suggestions for my list? thanks.
What really needs to be known is what you will be going against. I personally don't use heavy destroyers at all. A regular destroyer gets an 2 extra shots and can immobilize just about everything. I also don't use pariah at all either, wayyy to expensive and will get blasted if your enemy knows what they are and what they do. Immortals i totally agree with. The more the better. As far as your tactics. Gun line, flying circus or just bounce those warriors around the lith'?
You need the Orb, it almost goes without saying, honestly.
Flayed Ones are pretty much garbage unless you're playing against someone like Guard or Tau. They just don't have the killing power necessary. Dropping them for a few more points to increase the Immortal Squad to 10 and a Veil would enable some pretty awesome flying circus action.
But other than that, yeah, what are you expecting to play against?
We could end up playing against anything. Most likely Chaos, Orks, Daemons, or Dark Eldar, though guard/tau are possible but not likely.
You think drop the Flayed ones, pick up three more scarabs and put in two squads then put the rest into a veil? The two people I am playing against normally play a very assaulty style so I want to use the scarabs to hold up their units for a turn so we can do some extra blasting.
Tactics will change depending on what we are fighting, but wraiths will run for the back and either kill shooty units (lootas, obliterators) or power weapon units (bloodletters, DE HQ and retinue) Everyone else will likely fire line and teleport out when the enemy gets close.
Looks and sounds good. Time for the harvest.
The fight is over and we were completely destroyed. They ended up with Chao daemons and we could not do anything to them.
They didn't bring any vehicles/MC so our H destroyers were worthless. Their plague marines could take any amount of fire with T5, 5+invul, and feel no pain. And they ran through us with 2 wound, T5, 3+5+, power weapon wielding monsters. And they had deepstriking jump troops with flamers that wound on a 4+ and ignore saves, which wiped out every unit they torched (mulitple immortal Squads & warriors), then could jump and do it again if needed.
We phased out on turn five and only had one scoring unit left (which kept VoD away from their assaulters) a unit of Immortals, and both monoliths (which they couldn't hurt). If we could have played through turn six, and made increadable rolls (no deaths from their shooting) it would have been possible to contest every objective (there were three and our monoliths were near two of them and my VoD warriors were close to the other one), but we had no shot to win as they still had probably 8 scoring units, and guys on every objective.
I thought plague marines didnt get FNP if theyre using inv saves?
open for correction.
There is no "I" in "team", there is an "I" in "pie" however, as in "Meat Pie" with "Meat" being an anogram of "Team".
